Dungannon Va. It is a small town, everyone knows everyone and watches out for everyone. Sort of like it has never progressed with time. I love it. Reminds ya of how it use to be in the old days. People are not at a fast pace, seems to be more time in a day there. You go to work and still have time to smell the roses when you get home. Dang I am homesick. LMAO

Florida has several small towns with tons of charm! St. Augustine has something for everyone, from great history, wonderful attractions to visit, great shopping, and some really cool restaurants.
Fenandina Beach is quite small, but packs in tons of wonderful things. Again, for this history lovers, shopping, really cool festivals (like the Shrimp fest that has the invasion of the pirates), charming bed/breakfasts, and also contains Amelia Island for the persons that seek the more plush luxuries , golfing, tennis, and of course the beach! You may even see a few celebs there since several live in the area.
For the quaint, old school, town lovers that really appreciate seafood, Cedar Key offers the serenity that you seek.
Too many to list, but if anyone has a question on Florida or parts of GA,SC, VA, and southern CA, email me. Be glad to tell you what I know.

If you like quaintness, antiques, and history, Madison, Indiana on the banks of the Ohio is full of river history and antiques and is also home to the Madison Regatta. I also enjoyed Mt. Dora, Florida - it has a lot of charm and some historial facts. If I ever decide to move to Florida, Mt. Dora would be one of my choices. Mt Dora Lake is also quite large for those who still want water ambiance such as I. They have a wonderful arts festival in October.

Ok, I'm gonna let you in on the best kept secret in the Midwest. It's not really a secret because Midwest Living named it The Best Destination in the Midwest. It's Bayfield, Wisconsin, on Lake Superior, gateway to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It's a charm pit, with Victorian homes, beautiful gardens and a harbor full of boats. You can take the ferry to Madeleine Isl., the town of LaPointe is charming there.. In the winter there's an ICE ROAD. The winter here is only for the brave...

OMG! Best small town in the USA is Savannah, GA. Friendliest people on earth! River Street for meandering - drinking - shopping - eating and that is just the river level - go up to the street level and hit all the antique shops! Visit some of the old cemeteries - several famous people buried there. City is built around squares - each one has a story. Can't say enough about this fun, little city!
Or go further south and explore old St. Augustine - beautiful and quaint! Plenty to do there.
