Well the 27 needed several things but did have it running good when a large hill was tried in high gear and lost the transmission so are waiting on new Kevlar bands now.

Meanwhile I bought a 1925 model TT truck & also a new PJ Trailer that I just picked up yesterday so my 1st haul will be the 25 TT home.

I got around to reading the mfg.serial numbers on the Tractors I bought recently the VA Case is a 1946 and the Allis Chalmers B is a 1939
the Allis B seams to be in good shape, has good paint but needs a proper paint in the correct Allis color for it's age. The VAC needs back wheel rims & tires and has no paint left on it, but it may not be hard to get it running

Me too. I owned a 68 chevy in high school very nice looking truck and always wanted another completely rebuilt 68-72. My 68 was a 6 cylinder 3 speed on the column and would hang up you didn't shift it just right.

I have found the 1939 Allis Chalmers B with a woods belly mower all to be in good shape.
It needed front tires and then I found one wheel riveted to the Hub and the hub badly woren So found a used Hub, New wheel & bearings & lug nuts so will fix all this today, it also needs a new seat & I have an upholster making one for it. I will also make a step for getting on the tractor much more easy
I think I am really going to like this little tractor

Sold my Massey (gas, utility), now I have a Massey Ferguson 165 (diesel).
I'll be working on it come spring. Runs good, put on new tires, but could use some good paint!

I always liked the Massy Harris Tractors from ah far as the only one in my family was owned by a uncle who had a 44 D when i was quite young. For that resion I wanted a 44 also
but this 22 Massy Harris is sweet & small and I think now i will like owning it more than i would a 44 as I'm not farming with any of them any more This one is in very good condition and was all re-done in 1981 and just sat pretty after that.

My neighbor across my road had an E3 Co-Op when i walked this road to country school.
Now I own the farm on the other side of the road that i also was walking by at the same time and just moved the Co-Op to my side of the road
This E3 is in great original condition and I will leave it alone, no restoration for it

What's a good way to clean oil and grease from a tractor before painting it? Not going to take it to the fair just want to make it look better and put it in the field.

I use a screwdriver & putty knife, but it takes a lot of time that way as you keep finding missed spots, I hope to buy a Hot steam preasure warsher but thats $3,000 + I think
I just bought some abrasive cone's for my air Die that was advertised to be real good
but have not had the chance to try them yet.
Air & regular power warsh are helpful
may try a degreaser too but they never helped me alot

Just learned I need to subtract 4 years from a Case LA serial numbers so, the 1st two are 46 - 4 makes it a 1942
I was just guessing 46 may mean 1946 but not the Case

Could be, I don't now know just how many of that model were made?

I did just buy another tractor this week and just got it unloaded a little while ago have you ever heard of Farmtrac tractors? well I now have one.
is a model 545 DTC with a 5345 farmtrac loader it has only 198.7 hours of use.
also came with it a bushog mower & a snowblower & 3pt blade & tire chanes & a quick tach cupler un-used i think This was a one price for all deal & i gave less than haff of what the 1st owner gave for just the tractor & loader in 2007 it has not ben used in 4 years as the 1st owner has altimers and his wife just wanted it all gone.
This tractor was made in India but looks like a Ford 3000 with front wheel drive about 40 hp & a 3 cylinder deisel motor. it runs good sofar

At a tractor show I seen an 8n ford that was built during ww2 for the military, it had an armor plated cab, iron tires and machine guns mounted on it.

I would like to pick up one more tractor this year for my little collection, have in mind a 1934 WC Alice Chalmers & think the owner maybe ready to sell? It looks ruff & tires are flat & is not worth much but I still want it for some crazy idea.

We had a Kubota L175, 17hp for over 30 years and never had any problem other than glow plugs. We used it with a 4 foot brush hog to mow the yard, about 2 acres, it took about 2hrs and only used about half a gallon of diesel. Most of the new little tractors are hydraulic driven and I don't really like them, I hate holding the peddle down. I think they might be made for women that can't drive a standard.
