I work as a surgical technologist at a local hospital. It is a great job, that I really love. It has been a good fall-back plan; however, things are changing. I am an actor in my core. I have fought against everyone in my life saying "it's a great hobby", "you'll never make any money", "it's a pipe dream," "you should go to nursing school" Been trying to change my calling for the last 10 years...it isn't working. Time to give in. Time to live for myself. Time to make it happen. The thing is, I do not want to be an actor so I can be famous. Fame is actually the last thing I want. I want to be an actor because I it is the best way that I know how to be a teacher. To ask the difficult questions, to challenge the status quo, to elevate humanity beyond the confines we construct for ourselves. I am going for it. I would rather be poor and be an actor, than be rich and be unhappy. I am grateful that I studied surgical technology. It means that no matter where I go in this country, I will have a job. I don't have to worry about not being able to eat. I will use this experience to propel me into the next. I feel like I am right where I am supposed to be.. The first things people usually notice about me is I have been told that my smile, eyes, and outgoing personality are the first things that people notice.  I am a very social person. I love my friends, I love my family, I love my work. I love my life- now it's time to share it with someone.
