About Me

I'm a committed life-long learner--and if I resent my own mortality it's largely because I'll die with so much left to learn. My post-college autodidactic efforts have focused mostly on world history and world philosophy/religion, as I've attempted to gain the "long view"--of understanding the parts in relation to the whole. Basically, a lot of my efforts and energies are devoted to increasing my knowledge, harmonizing my psychic life, developing character (fingers crossed), and partaking in meaningful/ennobling relationships. Of course, I shouldn't paint too austere a picture of myself. I mean, I spend a lot of time on YouTube, too. Indeed, most of my interests are far from highbrow: I d*ck around a lot online, love popular television, and like to keep up with my favorite musicians/singers and their work. It's not all music videos and sketch comedy; I do read a lot for leisure, as I enjoy keeping up with current events and I always like to have a book going (can't say I read that many, however). I also like to get out as often as I can: I love to meet up with friends for dinner or just a little TV watching. I like to run (30+ miles/week) and hike--I've completed a few marathons and summited a few peaks in California. Once a week, I volunteer downtown, helping to serve a warm meal to our city's homeless and every Sunday I go to church, where I sometimes help out in the children's nursery. Don't really know who I'd be without a solid faith community--and I don't want to find out. I work at a job I don't love, but I've been there for about 6 years now and they're good to me. Made a quarter-life course correction recently and I'll be starting a grad program in psychology in L.A. (Azusa, actually) come Fall. I'll be moving to the city of Orange in August.. The first things people usually notice about me is I'm very passionate about life.. I'm good at i love debating and having conversations about things from politics to retail and science/religion.
