Broken hearts, love's deceit,
pieces fall down to my feet.
Broken promises, love's a lie,
puddles form from tears I cry.
Broken dreams, love's illusion,
sorrowed cause of your intrusion.
Broken hope, love's a game,
doesn't last, ends the same.
Broken sleep, love's the cause,
digs at me with sharpened claws.
Broken spirit, love of sorrow,
stolen now is my tomorrow.
Broken life, love is lost,
Broken now and that's the cost.

Why I Am Not a Painter
by Frank O'Hara
I am not a painter, I am a poet.
Why? I think I would rather be
a painter, but I am not. Well,
for instance, Mike Goldberg
is starting a painting. I drop in.
"Sit down and have a drink" he
says. I drink; we drink. I look
up. "You have SARDINES in it."
"Yes, it needed something there."
"Oh." I go and the days go by
and I drop in again. The painting
is going on, and I go, and the days
go by. I drop in. The painting is
finished. "Where's SARDINES?"
All that's left is just
letters, "It was too much," Mike says.
But me? One day I am thinking of
a color: orange. I write a line
about orange. Pretty soon it is a
whole page of words, not lines.
Then another page. There should be
so much more, not of orange, of
words, of how terrible orange is
and life. Days go by. It is even in
prose, I am a real poet. My poem
is finished and I haven't mentioned
orange yet. It's twelve poems, I call
it ORANGES. And one day in a gallery
I see Mike's painting, called SARDINES.
leave the haiku for real haikuers please...lol esp since i never get any visits personally...muchas gracias

The magic of that shaded path,
The tree tops reach across to each other,
Branches meeting like brothers shaking hands.
They clasp and protect the walkers
From the heat of the noon time sun,
And remain quiet as the strollers pass underneath...not a sound, but for slight breezes to rustle their sleeves.
The hard packed sands looking loosed from night time rains,
Freshly rid of all tracks..
My footprints appear as the first
Ever to be there. Along with my friend's pawprints.
Secluded, yet near much, the outside skirted area without noise,
To frighten the water fowl or reptiles sunning.
Peaceful times there, meeting no one...can hum poorly or even sing badly to myself and no one minds.
A lonely bench needing wiped clean of dust and webs reaching it from the tree over it..
No time to sit. Walk on by...

Day after day same monotonous routines
Work and more work is that all it means
From this moment onwards until I'm old,
Be walking to work, rain, snow and cold
Depressed and lifeless beyond belief
I'll be frail and old before I find relief
Tired and bleary and eyes like lead
Thinking, can it be any worse if I was dead
Where there are no more worries or heartache
But I have to struggle with life, for family's sake
So similar are the days, they all seem hazy
Another 15 odd years left, I can see myself going crazy
To sleep for an eternity. And wake up refreshed
Ready to take on the years that are left....
That dream I'll have to wait for, for when I'm in my grave
Knowing my luck, it'll be my old dull life that I'll crave
But where there is a will ... I'll find a way
I will battle up life's hill, Day after day
Like many who have come and gone before me,
I will survive and succeed, just wait... you'll see.......

As we get a little closer to our rocking chairs
I think back on the good life that we could have shared
And how our love has grown down through the years
So snuggle up to me baby, turn out the lights
There's nowhere on this earth I'd rather be tonight
Than lying in your arms, holding you tight
As time rolls by one thing's still clear to see
I'd have been a fool to let you get away from me......

Passing of time
No reason or rhyme
Fear of years to come
Alone with on one
You were not supposed to leave
I did not want to grieve
One is not a happy place
Growing old with a little grace
Does not come without a price
Why can someone not love twice?

The Springtime shift,
Cabin fevers have broken,
They flee to the great outdoors.
To breathe fresh air,
And do as they care,
And soak the sun into their pores.
Ahhhhhhhh, it feels good
To be at the shores or in the wood,
Refreshing new sights,
Winter has done what it could.

I wish I had a Teddy Bear
To sit upon my knee.

They might get jealous
If I had a Teddy Bear.

You constantly send countless shivers right up my spine,
From knowing that your loving smile is completely mine.
One sweet candy kiss from you is always blown my way,
Touching my lips when I can't find the words to say.
So many precious memories can slip through our hands,
But you promise to stay by my side as time withstands.
The whole entire world fades away when I'm with you,
While clearing all the fog around to help me get through.
Our two gentle soft hands reach close to touch each other,
It's you that makes me feel this way,not another.
I'll always feel blessed that you had come into my life,
Cause you know how to keep me warm & safe; out of strife.

In this deepest part
of night's embrace
I sit here typing,
wide awake.
My breath a steamy,
pluming cloud,
wet with things
not said aloud.
My face burns hot
beneath this mask
of different name
and separate past.
I have a dance
and do in text
what I'm too shy
to do in fact.
Such scenes are painted,
dark and hot,
when I can be
who I pretend I'm not.
These remembered scenes
stir my imagination
and greatly aid
my later... ministrations

There's a guy repeating
That same old cry
A broken record
But he keeps up the try
Beat that dead horse
But it's so self-defeating
You're just a lil lamb
Won't quit his bleating
Hold your head high
And quit all that whining
Maybe someone will finally
Ask you out for fine dining
It really is unattractive
The way you claim any coup
Why can't you be cheerful
And see what it might do for you?

Here is a Poem I wrote
Love Never Dies
Love never dies; it just grows and blooms like a garden of flowers and roses. The beauty of pure love itself comes from God.
It has no limits, no hang-ups, no differences, it just blends the characters of the two significant others together.
Yes, of course, it has its challenges from the obstacles of life, but it binds two people who are connected within its grasps in a long string of affection that stirs the passions of the hearts.
Through it all, it never fails, because it renews the vows of the man and women to continue onto more challenges that will only bring more strength, more closeness, more intimacy, more understanding, and more compassion.
It doesn’t even have an age limit because times causes love to withstand its test that it would not allow anything to stand in its way. It will always ties all unlooses knots tighter to make the love grows stronger.
Love never dies, because God’s love never dies. And it is through his unmerited love that can be shed through the hearts of the man and the women to continue on to share that special love for each other has no end.

Is as rare as one, a mother
But the love of our dad

So love as if it will be your last

Believe in your heart that
something wonderful is about to happen.
Love your life.
Believe in your own powers,
and your own potential,
and in your own innate goodness.
Wake every morning
with the awe of just being alive.
Discover each day the magnificent,
awesome beauty in the world.
Explore and embrace life in yourself
and in everyone you see each day.
Reach within to find your own specialness.
Amaze yourself and rouse those around you
to the potential of each new day.
Don't be afraid to admit
that you are less than perfect;
this is the essence of your humanity.
Let those who love you help you.
Trust enough to be able to take.
Look with hope to the horizon of today,
for today is all we truly have.
Live this day well.
Let a little sun out as well as in.
Create your own rainbows.
Be open to all your possibilities;
all possibilities and Miracles.
Always believe in Miracles.

A little nook in a quiet corner
Is for the soul of a poet
Makes a land of mystic words
Fall as tear stains upon the page.
For in the wanderings of this life
It is a respite to dwell
Passions to coddle
Upon a page of verse. .....authoress, cupocheer

Can one know?
Can they feel it grow?
Insidiously, slowly, quietly,
Sneaking up...subtle hints...
Preparing in advance,
For just by chance....
And to be ready if the hunch
Becomes a reality.
I think whatever the fate may
Be, it will never be the one
You think you "see".
Can't pick nor choose which,
There's too many ways
That would be left out.
Maybe during sleep,
Or swimming in the deep,
We know not where nor
How that grim reaper will creep.
