 | Geez shag, You didn't buy your gurlz a diamond collar or two?
Nor a furry pair of shoes foo foo?
 No ribbons, no bows?
To show off their MINKy white coats?
I bet you got them more gravy
And a mouse on a stick,
 Maybe some catnip,
Or teach them a new trick?

Whatever you do, don't ruin their day,
By feeling about in the dark
 Flippin that switch, that way

 | That fuzzy fir collar was not meant for you It was for your pets that much is true
 You wink and you waddle
That did not prompt my gift
 The talk of your cats
is what made me think swift
 Your gift will come later
 I promise you that
 But open that present
 it is for your cats

An juss before bed, I snuck more Christmas cookies
Then off in a flash, fer some hot Christmas nookie

The girls tried ta wake me at 3, Christmas mornin'
I yelled, 'OUTTA MY FACE', I give em fair warnin'
There stockins were shreaded, they hung by the chimbly
Ta git ta there presents, thet said, 'some assembly'

I waved g'bye as my present, drove clear outta site

Spendin' Christmas alone, fer this shaggy ole dog
I took two lil blue pills, fer an all nite Yule log...

 | We opened our presents, from under the tree An what to our wonderin' eyes did we see
A kewl new cat house, poppa put on the floor
But we couldn't ignore, it had really small doors
When we tried ta git in, we got stuck half way in
When we tried ta git out, we got stuck half way out
But our Poppa fixed that, with some renovation
Makin' up for what happened, to our cat size inflation

Come New Years Eve, we'll make a cat resolution
Ta cut down juss a bit on our cat food distribution

 | I opened my present That came from afar
 The best Christmas present
 I've gotten so far...

 It's warm and it's fuzzy
 It reminds me of you
 Attached with some fragrance
 My dreams have come true...

 I'll cherish it forever
 And think of you more
 Thank you sweetheart
 I'm touched to the core...

 | He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
 And away they all flew like the down of a thistle;
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

 | The latter stages may not be like the first - the windows are dirty - the handles break off - the fuels used up and the hard edge gone soft. No easy transport - pump don't pump - things sit in the yard waiting trips to the dump. The clock runs down and the colors fade - the opposite end from the time we were made. It's a different adventure - we are all pioneers - going back to the place - from whence we all first appeared. Partings sweet sorrow - the sad veil of tears - the intangible memories - of impossible years.

 Happy New Year!!!
 Humpy Now Dear!!!

 | Throughout the year... She brought you cheer...
 To lighten every heart...

 And with her cheer...
 She hoped you'd hear...
 The love she did impart...

For 'tis the close of another year...
 Encased in a crystal tear...
As this time does now depart...

 Look forward now, without fear...
 Make memories more dear...
'Tis not an ending, but a start...

Of a wonderous and glorious New Year!

 Happy New Year, everyone.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
and sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
and looked down one as far as I could
 to where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
and having perhaps the better claim
 because it was grassy and wanted wear;
though as for that, the passing there
had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
in leaves no feet had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
 Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference@davidpaulbrown

 | The Cookie Thief by Valerie Cox
A woman was waiting at an airport one night,
With several long hours before her flight.
She hunted for a book in the airport shop,
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book, but happened to see,
That the man beside her, as bold as could be,
Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between,
Which she tried to ignore, to avoid a scene.

She read, munched cookies, and watched the clock,
As the gutsy "cookie thief" diminished her stock.
She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by,
Thinking, "If I wasn't so nice, I'd blacken his eye!"

With each cookie she took, he took one too
When only one was left, she wondered what he'd do.
With a smile on his face and a nervous laugh,
He took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half, as he ate the other.
She snatched it from him and thought, "Oh brother,
This guy has some nerve, and he's also rude,
Why, he didn't even show any gratitude!"

She had never known when she had been so galled,
And sighed with relief when her flight was called.
She gathered her belongings and headed for the gate,
Refusing to look back at the "thieving ingrate."

She boarded the plane and sank in her seat,
Then sought her book, which was almost complete.
As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise.
There was her bag of cookies in front of her eyes!

"If mine are here," she moaned with despair,
"Then the others were his and he tried to share!"
Too late to apologize, she realized with grief,
That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief!

(Chicken Soup for the Soul, A Matter of Perspective)

 | Keith Urban gets me.........

I don't know what it was about her 'cause she's still all my mind
So why wouldn't I could keep her but waiting here is just fine
Cause I know someday, she'll come my way
And soon the sun will shine

And if I ever lose my heart, I'd lose it to a girl like that
And if I'm going to save all my love
I'd save it for the day she comes back
And if I ever lose my heart,
I'd lose it to a girl like that

And she can wrap the world in a river's mate
The stars are string of pearls
With the colors of the sunset, she takes me round the world
 Now every night, inside of
I am sending her my love out there

 Though I know she's gone
Maybe dreams just can't be wrong
Cause no one else on Earth
That makes me feel, the way I feel with her

And if I ever lose my heart
I'd lose it to a girl like that
And if I'm going to save all my love
I'd save it for the day she comes back
And if I ever lose my heart,
I'd lose it to a girl like that

Yeah, if I ever lose me heart
I would lose it to a girl like that.........

 | If I could love someone As true as I love you
I would never shed another tear
Never need to be sad or blue.
 If I could love someone
As deep as I love you
I would never feel the winter chill
Of a cold winter night so still.
 If I could love someone
As complete as I love you
I would never fear the dark of night
Or dread the lonely morning light.
 If I could love someone
As much as I love you
My heart would never break into
As now it has to do.

I'm real as real can get
 even tho we never met...

wear my heart on my sleeve

 take advantage if you must

And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walking till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show them the warmth of your smile.

But more than anything, more than anything at all,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to.
May your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold.
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know that somebody loves you, and wants the same things too.
 Yeah, this, is my wish.....

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place that you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get.
Oh, and you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you ever take.

 This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big........

 | Love is like dancing When you first meet
 You ask them to dance
 And if they CAN dance
 You ask them again
 Each time you dance
 Dancing gets better
 You teach each other
Steps you never knew...............................(Thanks Alicia Marie)
 so...
 You dance even more
 The more you dance
 The easier it gets
 Soon you're dancing
 From morning's first light
 'Till the evening sun
 and...
 You never want to stop

 Baby Girl... Your hand please...

 | So many more, than just a few Memories recalled, of me with you
From first to last, and those between
How many more, might we've seen

One more sunrise, had I been blessed
Could it be much more, than the rest
There's not one day, I cannot see
Memories recalled, of you with me

This morning sunrise, the trees in dark silhouette

 | I've got no poetry in me of late, It takes a special mood.
Instead of writing it all down,
I drown my sorrows with food.

 | Seize the yearning within your soul Blessed with wings of understanding
Shattered dreams were not the goal
Of the world inside you turning.

Shed the tears rid the yoke of burden
Grant kindness unto your poetic mind
Gaze into the sun, open the veiled curtain
Break the sorrows that unyielding bind.

The day has come for the second child
Dwelling secretly, conceived with good intention
To be freed, loved, nourished, revealed
For days have no lasting promised intervention.

 | Some days we write Some days we might
 Not always are all
 Days, always right

 Some days are sad
 Some days are glad
 Not always are all
 Days, always bad

 We do what we do
 The whole day thru
 The end of the day
 Be happy not blue

 Go start a petition
 Ya'll git a commission
 An gitcha a sign
 Without no condition

 'LEGALIZE POT'...

 Hay...

 | I used to assemble stained glass From the bright broken pieces amassed
 The colors and textures
 Helped determine the pictures
 Building out towards the ridges
 Wrapping all the sharp edges
 Copper tape trimmed and covered
 Liquid flux painted over
 Silver solder applied
 To solidify sides
 Now I feel I'm completing
 In a sense, I'm repeating
 The assemblage mosaic
To shape it and make it
From the bits of my living
 My getting and giving
 My light times and dark
 My memories and marks
 Something framed and complete
I could sell on the street
 Broken bits - humble glory
 Telling one final story

 | Pieces of life strewn about Some of shattered dreams and doubt
Others memories held deep and true
Bits of living and me and you.
 There are shards of hurt
 We could not divert
 Crystals of delight that glistened
Mirrors of days we really listened
Fractured hopes we lost in time
Puzzles unmatched and poems without rhyme.
For all the broken edges we have survived
 Here we are..We have arrived.
