Not sure since will plant about 4 Atlantic Giant pumpkins. Do not really have the room, but the seed has potential to grow a BEAST.

Tomatoes, got a new heirloom variety called Mr. Stripey, see how that goes.

Also, okra, cucumbers, sweet corn, cantaloupe, salad mix, kale, red lettuce, green onions, string beans, mint, oregano, parsley, red peppers, orange peppers, yellow peppers, jalepenos, and banana peppers.

I think that's it. Sounds like a lot when typing it all out haha.

Oh, and spinach.

Also have planted green and red bell peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, green beans, pole beans, jalapeños, a mildly spicy yellow pepper, Butternut squash, pie pumpkins, blue hubbard squash, dinosaur kale, a mix of greens, carrots, winter squash, big max pumpkins, potatoes, cucumbers and an ever expanding list of herbs. I potted some goji berries this year too looking forward to seeing how well they do.

Taters are too cheap at the store to fool with growing them.. Although they taste better home grown!!

I think the last i bought at the local IGA,were called red ring neck pheasant,or something like that, two ten pound bags for five bucks, but they would be so dry after you fry them,no matter how much you put the grease to them.
May be the shortening though...I normally use lard, cause taters and pinto beans taste better to me,with lard, rather than oil.
Getting ready to throw some lettuce and onions in the ground.
I like cutting the onion blades up,with some garden lettuce, and pour smoking hot lard or vegetable oil all over it.
Haven't had that in a few years, and it's time for some more.

Most people normally raise their onions about half dollar size, and their lettuce, just leafy, but don't let it turn into heads, and that's basically what i was saying in my other post about lettuce and onion blades scalded with real hot oil or lard.
Don't know if you've tried it,but it's very good, but honestly,i've never seen big onions grown here,or lettuce heads, but our maters are delivered all over the country.

I'm growing tomatoes this year. An heirloom variety called German Johnson. I'm having a hard time keeping the wildlife from them, as usual. The deer, birds, and everything in between seems to enjoy my tomatoes as much as I do.

Any ornamental starter suggestions for my new garden at my new home?

Well you need to be xeriscaping with drought tolerant plants.

One of my favorites is Texas Sage (Leucophyllum), which is not a sage or mint, but a Snapdragon family. It is a large shrub with whitish evergreen leaves & lavender flowers; hates fertilizer, needs lime.

Another is Red Yucca (Hesperoaloe), which is not spiny & low @ 3X3. Flowers red all summer

Anyone have footwear ideas? I just noticed my oregano mostly out of the box I was planting in. it may have stuck to the soles if my shoes and fell off in other parts of the yard where I walked afterwards.
