You are 18 and this is a question that many young woman ask, I am sure my own daughters have asked this question before, so I'll give it an answer like a mom if I may. And yes, you are beautiful. Seek 'Wisdom'....she will be your greatest friend, and in doing so you will find self-knowledge. The greatest thing a woman can give herself will not be found in a new tube of lip-stick, but in an intense understanding of herself.
There will be people on your path that will help you with this discovery. They won't always know it though, but with every hurt or disappointment that comes to you along your own path there is a greater chance of self-discovery that you can embrace and you will become beautiful in the ways that matter.
Even if no one else sees it.
Remember, it is what you understand when you look in the mirror. As you stand naked without the makeup.

My power is in self-discipline. Sex is and expression of some deep intimacy on many other domains. Beauty, as the OP is referring to is shallow and immediately visible which tends to lead to immediate gratifications.
The result of impulsive actions is seldom a premise for substantial, long term relationships. If all you want is a grease and lube job.

I keep coming into this forum to see possibly some professional talk, so much has changed in our economy in the past five years, I would imagine globally, but no.

When you are in your teens all you care about is looks. When you hit your 20's all you think about is money. When you hit your 30's its all about family. Then comes your 40's and again you are obsessed again about looks. On to your 50's and you are concerned about your heath. Hit your 60's you worry about retirement. Next your 70's and you get obsessed with death. If you make it to your 80 you worry about your mind and a good bowel movement.
The reason perhaps why you are asking for opinions may be due to an underlying insecurity or esteem issue which is very common in your age group.You are not ugly in any way. As you are slightly overweight but not quite in the obese category based on your current photos, perhaps is making you question your looks? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One man's heavy is another man's average. It's not what people think of you, rather what you think about yourself I think is the issue here. Affirmation from others on your good looks may not give the desired results as I think that is not the real question you want answered.

Once you've discovered you are indeed pretty then what? Your destiny in life isn't to focus all your attention on yourself and your looks. But rather to determine what your gifts and talents are and use those gift/talents to help others. Beauty radiates from the inside out. Don't get all caught up in sex and allow yourself be used sexually. Your identity isn't determined by your sexual preference. Focus your attention on something worthy of your time and efforts...Help others. It's not all about me.

Certainly not bitter - just cautious and not willing to squander my private self - perhaps fearful of betrayal, abandonment or rejection (as are most people I am guessing).
The 'beauty' that is lasting is in 'character' and 'authenticity'. It is the place where one's efforts to beautify will bear the most satisfying results. Kindness of heart and generosity of spirit helps to strengthen one's closest companions to become the best they can be and therefore the residual effects come back to the one who invested in them.
Sometimes one is used and abused but that is no reason to abandon this tact.
I would like to be respected and appreciated but if I am not - well - so what. My children all love, respect and trust me. Maybe someone else will some day too.
Until then celebacy is no great burden. My life is certainly less complicated than it would be if I were to resort to my old life-style.
Others can do as they like. It doesn't bother me either way.
