Even though the war has been going on for nearly 13 years now it seems many people think the war is over. Not true. Also Operation Iraqi freedom got almost all of the press and was on the news nearly everyday during most of the 2000s. Had we been focusing our efforts more centrally on Afghanistan instead of WMD in Iraq perhaps we would have caught Osama Bin Laden(in Pakistan) sooner. Thoughts? IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT WE KNOW, IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT THEY HAVEN'T SEEN WHAT WE'VE SEEN, IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT THEY HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED WHAT SOME OF US HAVE EXPERIENCED. The public is aware, thanks to movies, video game, and Navy Seals with book deals. But it's drug on for so long, no one seems to ask where it's going. It's just accepted as a fact of life. Iraq at least had "The Surge" with the goal of getting the government stood up so we could then pull back. [Edited 4/23/2014 11:49:49 AM ]

Then Reagan hauled a** and a couple months later sent the 82nd and some Rangers to Grenada to show he was a tough guy "Commander in Chief"! Oh, BTW. 18 were killed there too!

True some refuse to listen but if Veteran's; especially functioning ones, would get more active in their communities by banding together maybe things would change. What is sad is the media has done a pretty good job of making the average civilian afraid of a professional soldier and loath the ones who struggle with issues like Homelessness, unemployment, and mental health issues.
