makes Thursday night's game a must win........we have to get the series back to the Joe!!!
the question is: how do we get the puck past Rask?????? the guy is outstanding.
maybe the answer is too put everything we have in assaulting the net......the number of shots last night was kinda low..........
and a little urgency on the ice would be good.

great effort last night, but the physical power of the Bruins just wore our younger, lighter guys out........it's a shame that the OT game winner came when a puck bounced off DeKeyser's leg and into the net.........Gustafson played very well last night, but was lucky that Marchand was blind in front of an open net, not once but twice.
great to see Zetterberg back on the ice last night, and the new dads, Kronwall and Datsyuk honored the new babies with goals last night.
when off season rolls around, can we PLEASE get rid of Franzen???? watching that guy skate is like watching turtles fornicate.

Did you see him LAYING on the ice? He just lay there for almost 20 seconds. When they first brought him in, I thought he was going to play something like Holmstrom and was pretty excited to have another large net front presence. Too bad he hasn't done that, nor played at any level that he should be. He can't skate. He can't handle the puck. He gets lucky, hot streaks once or twice a season, but they aren't worth the pay he's getting when they could pick up someone who is 10x's better. It was nice to see Z back and Bertuzzi on the ice. I think Bert should have been playing earlier. We needed some size on the ice to help counter the Bruins size. It's not over yet, but I don't think they are going any further.

the season is over watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs without the Wings is not nearly as much fun, but I am already looking forward to next season.
What were the advantages of this season?
We gave the "kids" a lot of experience. It was largely due to their efforts that we made the playoff push to get in the playoffs. There is a lot of speed and quickness that the Wings had this season that has not been evident in years.
Being forced to play the kids, Mike Babc*ck learned plenty about who could be counted on for the seasons to come.
Watching the youngsters like Nyquist, Tatar, and DuKeyser, gave Wings fans a fresh appreciation for the Wings. We tend to take it for granted that our team will always be there in the spring, and we tend to get a little bored with the "same as always" style of the Wings. These kids got me excited about the future of the Wings.
We are going to be saying goodbye to some of our players this off-season. Franzen has GOT to go. Alfredsson is likely gone. What of Legwand (who I think made a huge difference for us, Holland got us a good one at the deadline)? I think Bertuzzi still has game, will he be back? I love Helm, and his hustle is always evident, but he is injured all the time. Who else is gone?
We are going to need some bigger, stronger, more physical players to play in the East. Our speed does force other Conference foes to play a different game against us, but size is needed for us to compete night in and night out.
23 straight years of playoffs. Absolutely amazing.
Thanks, Wings, for another good season. Can't wait till next year!!!

According to Ken Holland, the Red Wings have appeared to sign backup goalie Jonas Gustavsson to a 1 year deal. Terms of the deal were not released and an official announcement is expected soon. Gustavsson went 16-5-0 with a .907 save percentage and a 2.63 GAA in 27 games for the Red Wings last season

It has been a struggle for my cousin and his family. However I believe they are making the best of it.
I don't want a pity party but it's been very emotional this year for us. We just lost my uncle to cancer in April and found out my aunt has cancer and her body cannot handle treatment. Ultimately I feel for my mother because this is all on her side of the family. It just is very emotional.
