I had a big black snake find it's way into my house . Someone gave me some snake away . I never used it . I made sure I fixed the screen that he came in . We did not kill him . Threw him outside and he climbed the tree . Now I watch the trees when I mow .

Whoever created Snake-away has gotten rich, because many people, especially minorities & the uneducated are fearful, even demonize snakes. Total bullshit & Snake-away should be taken off the market

If you don't bother them, they won't bother you! Honestly I like snakes not as a pet though. Snakes are excellent for rodent control. As well as spiders are for other pesty little insects like mesquitos. They were all put here on this earth for a purpose, just like you and I were.

In a 60 or 70 mile radius around me? You could probably spend your entire life searching for a poisonous snake in the wild.
My son and I have let snakes we have found in areas dangerous for them go in our back field. No problem with spiders either, I don't care for them to be in the house though.

I don't like ANY SNAKES, don't care what kind they are - of course I REALLY DON'T LIKE POISONOUS/VENOMOUS snakes. They don't come with I.D. tags identifying which is which anyway. There have been several incidents past couple years of water moccasins a lot of them fatal. I had a chance to rent an apartment in the country which really appeals to me but the homeowner says snakes are everywhere. So I wouldn't feel comfortable planting and stuff so I just passed on it.
My son had a job a few years ago with a friend who had a roofing company. He said he was on the roof of a multiple story home and he saw this snake skin that had obviously been shed up there and it was at least 5 feet long. So they aren't just on the ground, going out onto my deck to relax and finding a snake out there with the same idea would finish off any idea I had about lounging out there. I have only seen a snake once here in the city on the property I have lived in for 20 years, it was a little garden snake and he was as anxious to avoid me as I was him.
Guam is awful, big ugly black snakes come up thru the toilet. And they have "hitched a ride" on jets going to Hawaii and so now songbirds who used to have no predators there are now the prey of these nasty brown snakes.
My grandson has a "pet" snake that is as tall as he is (close to 6 ft.) - and imo anyone who chooses a snake as a pet has "issues" or is trying to make a statement or something.
There is nowhere too far away from snakes for me.
I was at the San Diego Zoo years ago, they had a reptile exhibit that was very good I guess but knowing there's only a piece of glass between me and a venomous snake definitely makes you think.
Can you imagine living in the Amazon where they have anacondas?  omg - I'd be a basket case.

Snake away is nothing more than mothballs ground up, Save money and put them out and they last longer, keeps dogs and cats out of your yard also. OK I'll go.

old lady next door spread moth balls in her flower garden; one day I seen a cat go into her flower garden, and take his paw, and move the moth ball out of the way, and he dug a hole and pooped in her flower bed.

spiders are vital around my place to control insects
snakes take care of the gophers mice and voles
and two kinds of those will also eat the rattlesnakes
of which in 15 years of owning this place i have only seen
3 in the first few years of living here...
i have pictures of garter snakes eating my goldfish!
and pictures of two of them mating!
my kids got to see it all too!

I keep hearing people say snakes eat the mice. They don't do that around here, the only things they eat are bird eggs and baby birds. I despise the creepy things.

You do not see the snakes eat mice because they are hidden...when they go after nest the parents are drawing your attention to it.

You do not see the snakes eat mice because they are hidden...when they go after nest the parents are drawing your attention to it.
I had a lot of mice in my crawlspace, the snakes did NOT eat the mice, instead one of the snakes came in my bedroom. Cats have NOTHING to do with snakes. Snakes eat bird eggs and baby birds. Snakes are worthless and so are you.
