Your pro says you're self sufficient. Why don't you get your own farm?

Have you thought this through? I live on a hobby farm & trust me sister, it ain't no hobby.

If you're ready to give up your social life, willing to take cold showers when it's -20 (because of bursting barn pipes) & freakin out when your livestock tank heater crashes & all the hardware stores are sold out, endless hours of pumping flooded basements (& pumps are sold out), constantly nailing down shingles on your barn roof, tossing 10's of 1000's of pounds of hay (by hand), vet bills, tractor repairs, non stop plowing the driveway cuz it drifts over an hour after its been plowed, (& this is just the tip of the ice berg) then you're ready to live on a farm!
As far as finding a man who's gonna do all that stuff while you're in the house baking bread....good luck! I married a farm boy & guess who ended up doing all the "chores"? Toss in a couple of jobs to pay for all the help for things you can't get done on your own & you're good to go!
And the woman who said to "buy your own" is right. Unless you're prepared to go it alone, don't even consider it.

Did I mention waking up to bats under your pillow???

Too cold up there. I read on a website that Ward Cleaver (aka Hugh Beaumont) ran a Xmas tree farm near Grand Rapids when he died and his ashes were spread up there. He died in Germany visiting one of his kids. Someone else famous lived there after Judy Garland. Didn't she move out around 3 or so? Or was it 9?

Cin, sounds like it's way past time to sell, land and beef prices are starting to fall.

OP, I know what you mean. Hard to find a farmer, they are always busy, even when you are where they are (auctions, grain elevators, impl dealers). Just don't settle.

I don't raise beef, I raise pets. Plus I'm reasonably sure there's some kind of law against eating horses.
And if land prices are starting to fall, why would I choose now to sell.
"buy low - sell high"
You know, like all the thieves on Wall Street do!
I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

OP, Eagle is right about one thing:
You wanna meet a farmer? Start going to live stock auctions! I do & they are full of men. Just a thought.
