It's not far away from the All-Star weekend, halfway there. And they already gonna start having the fans voting for players soon; which I think is a huge mistake. But I have some ideas on who should make it. The west is quite stacked in guards and forwards.
I am also going to put in some thoughts on league awards too.
West
Starting / Reserves
Stephen Curry / Mike Conley
Chris Paul / Damian Lillard
Klay Thompson / James Harden
Anthony Davis / Blake Griffin
Marc Gasol / DeMarcus Cousins
East
John Wall / Kyle Lowry
Kyrie Irving / Dwyane Wade
LeBron James / Jimmy Butler
Chris Bosh / Kevin Love
Al Jefferson / Pau Gasol
** I could say Kobe can beat James Harden, but winning is valued more in the west.
* Durant, Westbrook, Rondo, all haven't played that much games.
There are also many big men in the west having better year than Howard.
If DeRozan comes back healthy and sooner, he beats out Dwyane Wade and becomes a starter.
MVPs so far...
Stephen Curry
Marc Gasol
Chris Paul
Kyle Lowry
Anthony Davis
Defensive Players
Tony Allen
Anthony Davis
Kawhi Leonard
Marc Gasol
Serge Ibaka
Rookies of the Year
Jabari Parker
K.J. McDaniels
Andrew Wiggins
Zach LaVine
Most Improved
Jimmy Butler
Tony Wroten
Evan Fournier
Donald Sloan
Most Disappointing Players so far...
Lance Stevenson
Roy Hibbert
Andre Drummond
Kemba Walker
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Starters will be : Irving, Wade, LeBron, Love, Bosh
Curry, Harden, Kobe, Griffin, Davis. Kobe shouldn't start but he has too many nut huggers voting.
MVP will be a two man race between Curry/LeBron. Durante is the only one who has an outside chance of making it a 3 man race.

People are sleeping on Lowry he def should be a starter I want to say john wall but I know fans don't watch wizards games like me so they prolly are gonna put Irving up there.
However if wade somehow gets ahead of derozon I'm just gonna smh.

Lowry could oust Wall from the starting spot, but Wall has been having a crazier year and putting up better numbers: with assists, steals, and blocks. I didn't even put Kobe in. I mean, I'll give him credit for leading the league in scoring at 36, but his team is not having a good year and other guys deserve to be in on the west. I would give him NBA 2nd or 1st Team at the end of the year.
LeBron's MVP chase might take a hit due to his team record. And i haven't considered Durant yet because he hasn't played many games yet, but, Durant "could" still take the MVP. Around when the season hits the halfway mark and I do more extensive looks, I'm going to be quite critical on some teams this year.
But then again, going back to the MVP topic, I don't think Anthony Davis would win it because I don't think his team will have a great record.

If Kevin love who a couple of years ago was on the twolves making the Allstar team kobe gonna make it.
Wall prolly gonna be a backup due to everyone following the cavs just hope the coaches recognize what Lowry is doing in tor cause everyone expected them to fall from grace after Lowry went down yet their leading the east.

Actually because of the fans voting, Rose will probably start over Irving and Melo over Bosh. So the east looks like Rose, Wade, Melo, LeBron, love.

Kevin Love was putting up those hefty double-doubles plus that 30,30 games. I think those are what got him in. But then again, Kobe will make it. Sadly a lot of guys that deserve to make it won't.

For the disappointing players I called it from the beggining and I'm glad people are starting to realize how overrated lance is. Andre Drummond I wouldn't put up there cause the pistons have 2 ball stoppers in Brandon Jennings and mr Brick Squad josh smith. Not to mention Greg Monroe is a black hole.

Okay I agree on regarding Andre Drummond. I just thought by now he would be putting up greater numbers and performing better but he's only like 20 so he's got a while. But yes, Lance is overrated and he tries to play like a PG but he's not. He will do well in a system just like Kawhai Leonard does, but that's whenever he gets his head straight. He's another J.R. Smith. They already looking to move him and it ain't even the halfway part of the season yet! And MKG just needs to be shipped somewhere better. I mean the guy was a factor in college and now he's good for nothing but athleticism and rebounds. Hibbert? Don't even get me started.
Jimmy Butler wouldn't get in over Wade or DeRozan, that's why I put him at SF because he actually does deserve to make it this year at least.

Wiggins is okay but the way that the nation was talking about him (even before college) that guy should be putting up at least 20 a game right now. He shows some promise but Jabari Parker is clearly the better player and defender even.

Well in klays defense he has gotten a lot better taking people off the dribble and a lil bit on his playmaking( still needs work in that department. Most fans vote for him cause tnt, espn, nba tv broadcasts their games frequently( same for cavs which is why it wouldn't shock me if the fans vote Irving as a starter over stars such as Lowry, wall, and rose

All of this BS is show and tell until the NBA playoffs begin!
Does anyone understand why the NBA has never been able to get a major TV Network contract during the regular season? I do because I had a 20 year career with CBS Television and major networks are not in the business of losing in the ratings wars by televising this kind of crap.

I love watching the regular season because it shows who's got it and who doesn't.
I think the All-Stars I made are pretty solid (some should start over others as of now) but the NBA are going to put a crazy list together. Klay played better than Harden in the beginning of the season, but now Harden should start. Like someone said I was crazy for not putting Kobe and Howard in there.
Howard has not had a better year than the other bigs in the west. I also look at consistency. And Kobe, yeah he's putting up 30 point games in his mid-30s but his team is losing horribly. Same thing was applied the time when he was putting up over 35 PPG and didn't win the MVP because they Lakers weren't winning.

They should really eliminate fan voting. They need to balance between winning an personal performance.
No Spurs should make it. Even though they are an elite team, Duncan is at the twilight of his career and (though he's playing great) he is not averaging "what he should be" and other big men are having better seasons.
Dwight Howard will have better luck next year. But again, other big men are having better seasons and he was hurt. Same thing as Westbrook and Durant.
Melo shouldn't even touch an All-Star team!
I would've liked Andre Drummond to make it, but I can see him making it next year.
