I don't talk shit. I prefer to be supportive. I don't understand why people have to choose to be hateful or always on the attack. I did nothing but support the gentleman on what his values are. We all make our own decisions. Doing something that feels wrong is disrespecting yourself.

I'd hope to wait until marriage but that can change depending on the relationship. But so far lots of women my age don't get it, and frankly I won't compromise on that. But what's everyone's opinion on keeping someone while waiting to make sure the person is a keeper?
If you "won't compromise", then everyone's opinion is of no concern to you. Or it shouldn't be anyway.

This is for the people who know what I'm talking about. Call me faithful and old fashioned, but after years of trying to figure out what I want in a relationship, I'm ready for what I want. The only thing is I feel that if I'm dating someone that I would rather wait to get intimate. My ideal is to not have sex until I know for certain that the woman is the one I will spend the rest of my life with. I'd hope to wait until marriage but that can change depending on the relationship. But so far lots of women my age don't get it, and frankly I won't compromise on that. But what's everyone's opinion on keeping someone while waiting to make sure the person is a keeper?

You'd need someone with the same beliefs or it won't work. Sex is like a need for most people in a relationship, or atleast from my experiences. Sex keeps a relationship healthy and without it, it could lead to being unfaithful and that's not what you'd want. But if that person truly liked you and truly was going to wait with you, then they're worth it.

Seems like people are challenging OP's desires rather than answering his question.
I am impressed that a younger male will announce to DH that he wants to wait. Although he stated marriage as a possible right time, he did not insist that time was set in stone.
I truly believe if a person finds another person who is the right one, no fear will be needed regarding wether or not they will wait until you feel completely comfortable with sex regardless if that is marriage or not.
I applaud someone willing to make a stand in the sea of instant physical gratification. There is so much more to life than sex even though sex is a instinctual urge. Unfortunately, some people only think about their own desires rather than both when in a relationship.
If you find the right person, that person may have different ideas or desires, but you will find a way to compromise so you stay together. It is not easy -- there would not be so many cynical people if it were. However, that is why good relationships are so special -- they are not easy to find or keep, but well worth the effort.

I believe in the law of large numbers, even if it is mostly theory for me.

Hey OP ... from the hard won experience of OTHER PEOPLE that have done what you are doing, in 'saving' them selves for marriage ... it doesn't accomplish a thing.
It doesn't give you a healthy marriage nor a happy life.
Very much like putting sand paper to an eskimo pie and rubbing the top 10% of it away as an EFFORT of love.
At the end of the day you have a perfectly good eskimo pie that is smaller by 10 % and a perfectly good piece of sand paper that has eskimo pie goop on it ... for all that effort .. it really did not accomplish a thing.

I agree with the first 2 posters. If you are just not ready for that until you feel she is the one ( a bit weird but your thing) then you must be willing to pleasure her at least and know that is usually no one's thing because most want to be compatable on that level to ensure they will have passion to keep the relationship alive and exciting. but as long as you are willing to physically please her in other ways I don't think it would be an issue for a woman. I think it's awesome you know what you want though, good luck finding the one that will deal with it
