Tommy "the blade" Hall tossed a couple of shutouts for the Twins...listed at 6'0" and 150 pounds...kinda makes me wonder who were the lightest and heaviest pitchers to throw major league complete game shutouts...

Without looking it up I would have to guess that CC Sabathia would have to be one of the heaviest to do this.

Looks like darvish to get Tommy John while good signs, tanaka threw like 19 pitches in two innings on 17 pitches then went to bullpen to throw the rest of 35 pitches..anything close to how he pitched before injury is a plus...now only if CC in around 5 days does something like that/ build up 80-90 pitches another plus..then in early June they get back Nova from tommy john ...he's back doing bullpen sessions now...Fuhgeddabouit

Hey Theo epstein think this guy is ready for big leagues yet

MESA, Ariz. -- Kris Bryant is making a statement this spring, and that's exactly what he wants to do.

The Cubs' top prospect belted his seventh and eighth spring home runs, most in the Major Leagues, including a two-run shot off Mariners ace Felix Hernandez Saturday. It's his third two-homer game this spring

I'm about half way done with a longggggg draft where we have 8 hours per pick. I am deciding whether to buy more teams from that site (nfbc.stats.com) or get some cbs ones where I can trade...

I missed out on Bryant and soler, thinking they'd last longer.

On my draft tomorrow I have the #3 pick.

This was a good idea doing a long draft for my first one. Now I have been able to TAKE MY TIME analyzing all the players before drafting, so for future drafts I will be much more prepared.

One question why is Josh Hamilton not being suspended who wins his appeal

So if you go to MLB you're exempt and not the other way around...hmmm

Not even angels want him back,..so does he become a yankee who give second through nine chances to abusers of some kind of sunstance...

Hey its baseball season. .enjoy

Don't mess with Josh. He played his high school baseball in my backyard breaking so much glass in the Brown, Rogers, and Dixon building beyond the outfield wall that replacement glass is a hot commodity here.

The reason the Angels are pissed is because now they have to pay him! Josh will never learn and all this is going to do is give him more money to buy more cocaine. SAD!

Hey Buddy, Make that 3-0 through 5 1/2.

Just think, if our red birds hold on we will be in first place in the NL Central with only 161 games left to play.

What do you mean why? It's because his name is Joe Girardi and he better get it right soon! I know he would be on a short leash if George was still around but maybe the leash is longer now with this inept Yankee ownership. The Yankees are my favorite AL team but their talent level is way to low. I know the manager is the first to go in a situation like this but the real season has started and the Yankees don't need to be down by a bunch out of the gate.

If Tanaka can't hold that lead you need to trade him to the Reds.

This is tough. I need Russell on my team that has a budget for free agents and I can't decide how much to bid. It's blind bids, so I have no idea what others will bid and I don't want to pay too much, if I can get him less. The highest bid on players so far ahs been around $275 for Salazar who I WAIVED MYSELF a week before he was called up. Rusney Castillo went for over $200. So far I am bidding over $300, but am worried someone will even go up around $500. Our whole yearly budget is $1000.

Twins still suck, pitching is worse, hitting is nonexistant and the fielding horrible last night. Jordan Schafer is a joke is center field and only about 133 at the plate. He has to go on a diet so he can hit his weight.

Never. He admittedly bet on games he managed.

They shouldn't even allow him in the park at the all star game.

The arrogant way he conducted himself and the disrespectful he lied to and treated Bart Giamati was a disgrace.

They should never lift that ban.

If they do then lift the ban on Shoeless Joe, Buck Weaver, and Eddie Cicotti.

I'm all for a heavy penalty for messing with the game, but if Rose has a lifetime penalty, then 'roiders need lifetime bans for messing with the game too. Since 'roiders don't, Rose should be allowed back. He's expressed equal or more remorse as all roiders in history combined, and it seems like he's served a longer penalty than all roiders in history combined.

Jose, I seem to always agree with you and I hope I am this time based on what you posted, but you'll have to tell me. I played professional baseball but I only made it to the Triple AAA level and there was certainly no hall of fame there.

To me, MLB's hall of fame is very sacred with hopefully a lot of integrity included. No "ROIDS" player or "PETE ROSE" should ever be allowed to even enter the city limits of Cooperstown in my opinion. Many people don't even know this but Pete Rose started having a gambling problem when he was 12 years old. We don't have a clue how much he gambled on baseball even while he was a player, and one of the greatest players who ever lived by the way. He is actually very lucky to be alive with the money he lost to his bookie and the bookie's strong arm if you want to get right down to it because these guys normally get their money or a few quarts of blood and Charlie Hustle has still not settled his debts. So you tell me, what am I missing here my friend?

Oh I don't think he should be up for HOF consideration. Maybe I'm the one missing something. I thought he wasn't allowed to even attend games. But I don't believe he should be considered for much more than that.

I dont think this argument flies and I'll tell you why.

Fans flocked to the parks to see roiders hit homeruns.

They will flock to the ball park to see drunks, murderers, druggies, and wifebeaters, and racists, as long as those creeps play entertaining and winning baseball.

They will not come to the ball park if they think the game is fixed or not on the level in some way because of gambleling.

That is why gambleling carries the stiffist penalties.

And it should.

It is the single most destructive element to the integrity of the sport.

The 1920 attendance records bare that out.

Thank God Ruth came along in the nick of time to save the game.

Rose knew about the lifetime ban.

Since 1919 all players have known about it.

But Rose gambleled on the games anyway, because he was an arrogant sob who thought he was above the game.

Well Mr Rose, you are not above the game.

Baseball does not need you.

You need baseball.

Yeah the red birds are incredible.

How many losing seasons have they had.

It seems like none.

Always in contention.

Keith Hernandez is as Mets announcer now.

I love listening to him talk about his days as a Cardinal.

He said they were force fed bydweiser in the club house.lol

Check this bs out. I am probably about to win $50+ on fan duel, but I kept messing with my outfielders earlier, and two of them I once had in could have made that $50 be $8,000.

Turns out I would have won $1500, but still a lot and would have missed the $8k by half a point. Still with all players I was considering between the two teams I made, I could have got the $8k.

No they don't..... If people had know Sosa and Mc were on the roids in the 90's no one would have cared what they were doing.... No real baseball fans considers Bonds the all time home run leader.... A-Roid is getting ready to pass Mays... No one cares and even the yanks do not want to celebrate it.....

Players with Mets ties named in the Mitchell Report
December 13, 2007 5:44 PM

TODD HUNDLEY

2007: Out of baseball

Son of former Cubs catcher Randy Hundley played for the Mets from 1990-1998. He was an All-Star in 1996-1997. Hundley is tied with Carlos Beltran for the single-season Mets home run record with 41. In the report, Kirk Radomski stated that, beginning in 1996, he sold Durabolin and testosterone to Hundley on three or four occasions. At the beginning of that year, Radomski told Hundley that if he used steroids, he would hit 40 home runs. Hundley hit 41 home runs in 1996, having never hit more than 16 in any prior year. After the season, Radomski said that Hundley took him out to dinner.

Mark Carreon

2007 team: Out of baseball.

An outfielder from 1987-96, Carreon played for the Mets (1987-91), Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Indians. In the report, Radomski said that he provided Carreon with Dianabol pills toward the end of his tenure with the Giants, where he played from 1994 through the middle of the 1996 season. According to Radomski, Carreon told him that the "ball was jumping off his bat" and that he could hit farther because of the anabolic steroids he used.

Chris Donnels

2007 team: Out of baseball.

Donnels played parts of eight seasons as an infielder with the Mets (1991-92), Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks. Radomski sold HGH and steroids to Donnels from 2000-04. Radomski produced eight checks and money orders from Donnels. The earliest was dated Nov. 29, 2001 and the latest June 23, 2004; they totaled $9,950.

Lenny Dykstra

2007 team: Out of baseball

Nicknamed "Nails" for his daring and sometimes reckless play, the three-time All-Star was runner-up for NL MVP in 1993, when he led Philadelphia to the World Series. A productive leadoff hitter, he went from a skinny speedster with the Mets (1985-part of 1989) to a muscular outfielder with the Phillies. According to Radomski, when Dykstra reported to spring training in 1989, "his increased size was noticeable." When Radomski asked him about his increased size, Dykstra admitted to taking steroids. After the Phillies lost the 1993 World Series, Dykstra called Radomski and asked whether Radomski could get Dykstra steroids. Although Radomski does not remember the exact time frame, he recalled providing Dykstra with Deca-Durabolin, Dianabol and testosterone.

Matt Franco

2007 team: Out of baseball

A light-hitting infielder for the Mets (1996-2000), Chicago Cubs, and Atlanta Braves, Franco played from 1995-2003. Radomski said that he sold Franco steroids on one occasion in 2000 after Franco called him to place the order. Franco denied he ever met, knew or talked with Radomski.

Paul Lo Duca

2007 team: Mets

Catcher was a teammate of Gagne's with the Dodgers, where he broke out with a 25-homer season in 2001 and batted .320. He hasn't approached those numbers since; 13 homers and a .286 average in 2004 are the closest he came. He went to Florida during the 2004 season, and came to the Mets before 2006. Radomski estimated that he engaged in six or more transactions with Lo Duca, sending human growth hormone to Lo Duca's home or the Dodgers' clubhouse. Notes of a discussion among Dodgers officials in October 2003 indicated that the general belief was that he was no longer using steroids, adding: "Took away a lot of hard line drives."

Josias Manzanillo

2007 team: Out of baseball.

Righthander pitched for eight teams - Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Mets (1993-95), Yankees (1995), Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Florida Marlins. Radomski stated that when he was working for the Mets in 1994, Manzanillo asked Radomski to inject him with the steroid Deca-Durabolin that Manzanillo provided. Radomski did so in the Mets clubhouse. Radomski said that this was the only instance in which he actually observed a major-league player using steroids. Through his lawyer, Manzanillo claimed it was Radomski who approached him, telling him that if he used steroids he would gain velocity on his fastball. Manzanillo ultimately paid $200-$250 for steroids, but the lawyer said, his client "chickened out or thought better of it" and never took possession of the steroids.

Todd Pratt

2007: Out of baseball

Catcher played from 1992 to 2006 for four teams: Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Mets (1997 to part of 2001) and Atlanta Braves. Radomski became acquainted with Pratt in 1997. According to Radomski, Pratt informed him that he had previously bought Deca-Durabolin from another source. Sometime in 2000 or 2001, while he was still with the Mets, Pratt asked to buy anabolic steroids. Radomski made one or two sales of small amounts of steroids to Pratt.

Scott Schoeneweis

2007 team: Mets

Lefty was 0-2 with a 5.03 ERA in 70 games last season. Durable reliever helped the Angels win the 2002 World Series. He received six shipments of steroids in 2003 and 2004 from Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, Fla., ESPN.com reported. Baseball recently concluded there was "insufficient evidence" to determine he committed a doping violation. Schoeneweis, who survived testicular cancer, told the Daily News he had never received shipments from Florida or even heard of Signature Pharmacy.

David Segui

2007 team: Out of baseball.

Slick-fielding first baseman played 15 seasons, finishing with Baltimore in 2004 (Mets 1994-part of 1995). Acknowledged he used HGH and said he was among the players mentioned by ex-teammate Jason Grimsley to federal investigators. Segui told ESPN's "Outside the Lines" he used HGH with a doctor's prescription because of a growth hormone deficiency. This week, he told the Baltimore Sun that he bought steroids and drugs from Radomski. Segui said he refused to talk to the Mitchell investigation.

Mo Vaughn

2007 team: Out of baseball

Plump slugger was a three-time All-Star and AL MVP before finishing up with the Mets in 2003. In his last season, Vaughn told The New York Times he used supplements that contained ephedra. Vaughn said he did it to build energy, not to lose weight.

Fernando Vina

2007: Out of baseball

Vina played with five teams from 1993 to 2004, the Seattle Mariners, Mets (1994), Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers. He played in the 1998 All-Star Game and won two NL Gold Glove Awards. Radomski met Vina in 1993 and stated that he sold anabolic steroids or human growth hormone to Vina six to eight times from 2000 to 2005. Radomski produced three checks from Vina. Vina's name, with an address and two telephone numbers, is listed in the address book seized from Radomski's residence by federal agents.

Former Mets Employee Sold Steroids To Players

By Amy Shipley
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, April 28, 2007
SAN FRANCISCO, April 27 -- A former employee of the New York Mets admitted to distributing a variety of performance-enhancing drugs, including anabolic steroids and human growth hormone, to dozens of Major League Baseball players over a 10-year period beginning in 1995, according to a felony plea agreement filed in federal court Friday.

Kirk J. Radomski, who worked for the Mets from 1985 to '95, agreed to provide information to the group led by former senator George Mitchell that is investigating drug use in Major League Baseball as part of the plea deal accepted at the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California by Judge Susan Illston.

The plea agreement represents a significant blow to MLB, which has been trying to shake free of the drug scandal as slugger Barry Bonds approaches the all-time major league home run record, which he is expected to eclipse this summer. Mitchell had complained that players weren't cooperating with his investigation, so Friday's plea deal could provide a breakthrough.

Radomski, 37, who has worked as a personal trainer since leaving the Mets, admitted supplying drugs to players throughout the league and laundering the proceeds of those sales.

"This individual was a major dealer of anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs whose clientele was focused almost exclusively on Major League Baseball players," Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Parrella said. "He operated for approximately a decade."

Radomski began with the Mets as a batboy, Parrella said. The Mets confirmed that Radomski had been a clubhouse assistant with the team. Clubhouse assistants, or "clubbies" as they are known, perform such chores as cleaning the team's uniforms, setting up the postgame spread and fetching anything a player asks for.

Radomski admitted he operated his drug distribution network out of his New York home after he left the Mets, using his baseball connections.

No MLB players were identified in the court filings associated with the case, but names and paragraphs of text were redacted from the federal search warrant affidavit filed in December 2005.

The affidavit listed 23 checks worth nearly $34,000 that federal investigators alleged were deposited by individuals associated with MLB into Radomski's personal bank account between May 2003 and March 2005. The search warrant alleged that a confidential source received five orders of anabolic steroids from Radomski.

A confidential informant told the FBI that Radomski became a major drug source in professional baseball after the steroid bust of the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative (Balco) in 2003, according to a federal search warrant affidavit filed in connection with the case.

The Balco investigation resulted in five criminal convictions and more than a dozen doping suspensions of track and field athletes. It also led to a perjury investigation of Bonds, and indictments of track coach Trevor Graham and former cyclist Tammy Thomas.

Friday's action suggests that the probe has continued despite the recent ouster of U.S. attorney Kevin Ryan, who oversaw the investigation until this spring when he was among the eight U.S. attorneys nationwide forced to depart.

Who was that bruiser who gave Vina the forearm at second.

I think he played for the Indians.

Anyway, roids didnt help the Mets in those days.

Vina wad a nice player.

I think he took over second for the Mets after Jeff Kent.

Never would have thought Kent would turn into the player he did.
