I have a 2007 Nissan murano. And would like to know why my brakes continue tosqueak. I have had the suv for almost 4 years now. Any comments are welcome. Be nice or be blocked.

you might need new rotors.
If they've been resurfaced,they don't last forever.

Squeaking is basically caused by the pads vibrating at a high speed when the brakes are applied lightly.
Sometimes the techs misplace or leave out the anti-squeal clips that limit vibration. There is also jello-like goo you are supposed to apply to the backside of the pads to help.

When replacing brakes it is important to clean, polish and lubricate all moving parts, refinish the rotors with a non-directional surface, use brake pads that cost more than $5.00 and burnish the brake pads after the job is done. Unfortunately, no one outside of European repair garages do this. They certainly would not work on your POS. Block me!

Do they squeak when applied lightly or severely.
Do they squeak when driving at slow speeds with no brake application.
Have you left your parking brake on and driven around.
Have you ever had your brakes replaced.
If so, what all did they replace. Or did you call around and get the cheapest quote and that's what you got.

I can answer. Squeaks loud especially in the morning. It also squeaks in heavy traffic.

If you ride your brakes as you drive OP the brake shoes can actually crystallized and cause a squeaking sound. They will need to be replaced.

Dixie dancer. The brakes squeak regularly. My brake pad is not down. It had this squeaking when I bought it from Nissan. I have had the brakes replaced twice.

Too much heat created by the calipers and/or rotors will cause friction and make the rotors warp so the brake shoes don't seat. Perhaps you should have the rotors changed before having new shoes installed.

Splash guard could be bent and hitting the rotor if its disk system or otherwise the clips that hold the pads in never got replaced and one of the tabs are rubbing

Check master cylinder and all brake parts down to the pads and rotors springs etc.

Put ceramic, or organic pads on it and be done!
