The star of my all time favorite Horror movie the Texas Chainsaw Massacre- 1974 passed away on November 7 at age 68. He was born in Iceland and was aso a writer but he will forever be known as Leatherface. I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet, intelligent- bear of a man once and I will never forget that. No true Horror fan will ever forget that he was the first and best Leatherface ever! Another Horror Icon leaves us... Thank you for everything Mr. Hansen.

His performance as Leatherface was exceptional, and iconic. I'm not sure it would be the classic it is today without his portrayal. Though he was monstrous, he conveyed an innocence that made you feel sympathy for him, in what was undoubtedly a horrific upbringing, more so than for those he annihilated. Don't think many could have pulled that off.

I immediately thought about you when I heard the news. This is a most upsetting loss for horror film.

I know he appeared in Hellblock 13 in 1999. What other films has he appeared in?

That movie still scares the crap outta me & it really wasn't very graphic compared to todays horror flicks.
To this day if someone cranks up a chainsaw I start backing away...
I bet it was cool to meet him
