i have been talking to someone for over six years via messenger. we met in a chat room way back.. anyways.. i talked to him for over four years before i ever saw what he looked like. he lives in another country and i must say one thing... just because he wasn't so ugly made it a whole lot better.. by the time i saw the picture it wouldn't have mattered what he looked like because we had become pretty good friends by then.
i'm just saying... it didn't hurt a thing by him being so easy on the eyes....
ky, my momma used to say, "two wrongs don't make a right".. i know it's not the same but you made me think of that..

Just to clarify....my stance on the webcam has nothing to do with the need for a visual. I added that in because we can't always go by a picture. It's no secret that some folks on this site post pics that are not "accurate." I agree, it is okay to talk to someone without seeing a picture, but the picture opens up a certain level of trust. JMO

I still say .. that if I'm just seeking friends than a pic is not a big deal. I email with younger guys on here and don't have a pic of them and that is ok because they are too young for what I'm looking for. But if I find someone that I feel might be worth persuing in the long-term possiblity, I definitely want a pic

trublu, i can't see why anyone would disagree with u. its easy for me to say i'll talk to people with no pics because i'm just talking to friends, and i have no requirements for how a friend should look. but in real life we have to be attracted to someone we want to date or consider as a possible husband or wife and its ridiculous to say we should start off a relationship without knowing what the other looks like.
yea yea people don't all have scanners, i didnt know how to use my brothers scanner; but there r a million kids on myspace who somehow found a way to get pictures up. im sure if u ask any teenager u know to scan u a pic and get it to ur email they can do it. kinko's photocopy store has scanners and will scan ur pic. some sites even offer to scan and add ur photo, maybe dustin could do that here. it mite be a little more work but those who are here to meet someone to meet in person on a date, it doesn't seem like too much to do to meet ur love.

Ky, I understand your feelings and you have your right to them, but me as a single mother of two girls, I have the choice to not talk to people with out pics. How do I know that I am not talking to someone that has their picture posted on the FBI's most wanted for child molestation? Yes, I check it often. I have more than myself to think about as far as security wise and I want to know who I am talking to. I'm sorry if that makes me a piece of shit in your eyes, but looking in my children's eyes is far more important to me than you thinking I am piece of shit. There are a lot more dangers for a women on these sites and you should take that into consideration before you start attacking those who don't talk to people with out pics, myself included. If they don't want to post a pic fine, but you better send one with you when you email me or I am not going to respond.

Good point, Kirota. In your case, you have to condider the safety of not only yourself but others as well (children). That goes back to the trust issue. If it's just yourself, I suppose the picture is not as important. So, I guess the best way to approach this is to base it on individual circumstances.

I respect everyones choices on whether they talk to pic people or none pic people. I understand for some professions people can't post their pic, but those that have had that situation send me an email with their pic and explain why they don't have it posted. I can have conversation with them then, but I will be honest. If I am not physically attracted I try to be pretty honest and say that they are not my type, but I will talk as friends. That is just me.

i understand kirota but all the same this could go on for ever and who ever can think what they want of me im not tring to be a thread kill and as far as that go s kirota read every thing i have said in fourms whats it matter about a pic any one on here can be a child molester you could meet some one on here who hasnt got caught for it my whole thing is this if just for the oint that a person dose not have a pic you do not talk to them what so ever even in fourms then yes that makes you a better then the rest type of person thats not an opion thats a fact now if you read this every word of it and you dont agree with me i dont care this is my stand cause im also against ppl sarting shit out of nouthing and thats not what i was doing i just have strong feelings about ppl being predgest in any way thats what im tring to get across now seriously im through with it cause ppl are takeing me wrong ive said my peice i like the hell out of alot of ppl on here pic or no pic or if they do feel differnt then me on this but hell no i wont back down

Ky, you are right a molester could have a pic posted, but at least I know what he looks like to hunt his ass down if I need to. You are taking a stand calling people assholes because we don't talk to people with out pics. Are there not bigger and more important issues to take a stand on. I am not here to just make friends. If you are, great, talk to whom ever you like. It doesn't make you better than me because you talk to them and I don't. If me making the choice not to talk to them makes me an asshole fine, but because you talk to them doesn't make you better than me. You are being just as judge mental calling me an asshole because I choose not to. You started this fight by the name calling and judging people for what they choose to do or not to do, so don't be pissed when they do not agree with you. We all have our own reasons for what we do. Don't be pissed because theirs are not that same as yours. JMO.

I got ya. I totally understand what you are saying. I apologize if I took it wrong. I commend you for talking with everyone. I guess some people are searching for their perfect match and like I said earlier. I have to have physical and mental attraction to really get into someone.
