Why do men always want someone who is slender/thin? |

i've noticed that when a woman's waist looks like it doesn't have a set of 6 pack honker abs, but instead curves way in (i.e., completely unlike men's waists are capable of doing) i accidentally go boing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm taking some offense to some of this man. Some of you ladies are insenuating that because I am thin, I am not a real woaman? What the hell is that? Perhaps guys like the thinner women because it shows a discipline about them, a little responsibilty for their actions. Like maybe they care about their body and the well being of their health. I am really disappointed that this has gone this way. Just my opinion.

dunno if thats what I got from it, but just because you care for your body, does not mean that your 'unreal'
Just that a LOT of what we 'think' we want, what we 'think' they want, and what we 'think' we should be, is driven into our brains by the stuff we see on tv.
The image of a perfect woman has screwed everyone into thinking that is what we should focus on getting/becoming like, etc.
Look at the %'s of actors, public figures, and famous people. Now what % of those females are 'well built' and what % are 'heavy'. Now do the same for males. You will see that this is a double standard, and there are a LOT of big, heavy(IE: fat) guys out there who still make it and are considered 'desirable' by women, while there are HARDLY any women who are 'fat' and still up there. (The few I can think of are three because they are either very intelligent, or have a way about them which sidesteps the need for 'beauty' - Goldberg, and O'Donnell are 2 names (Spelling?) I can come up with that are larger, but still well respected and known women. And why? Because they made it no matter what.(And truth is, neither is really 'fat' but neither can be considered 'well built' when we think about Hollywood's version of what should be)

Bigger is not "always" better, not even at Costco. (Sometimes you have to do the math.)
Rockchick, I think most on this thread agree with you, just a couple of early posters suggested that a thin woman is not a real woman.

I think that everyone has preferences, weather thin, fat, average, black, white, read, green with polka dots, or whatever! Nobody should put someone down for the way they look! Skinny people are people too. Just like bigger people!

Dude I work in management in the supermarket industry. Trust me, the larger purchases are a better deal if you only shop once a month. And for men like me, who are thankful for a woman to even talk to me, we have to take what we can get.

As far as I can tell, we're all "real people" here. I define fake people as mannequins and inflatable dolls (don't ask). How we conduct ourselves and the choices we make only define how we fit into the real world.

People are people - and thank god for all the differences or this would be one boring ass world to live in. Variety is the spice of life.

Excellent points!!! To each their own. If you are lucky enough to attract and be with a certain body type-good for you. If not, accept what you are given. It is done for a reason. You are strong enough to handle it.

For the record, I would like to state that I have nothing against bigger people. I have many friends and family that are and I dont want anyone to think that I am picking on them. But I felt incredibly discriminated against reading the early parts of this thread. So anyway, just wanted to say that. And also, for the record, not all men want thin people. My mom is with a thinner guy and she is bigger.

I think its all about confidence, personally.. Men dont allways see us as being a bit heavier they see the beauty also......what we see in ourselves sometimes,,,,is a whole lot worse than what he sees,,,,,,,,,,,,so what Im tryin to say is,,,,,,,,,,,walk tall, walk proud and smile,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that turns a man on almost as much as a size............................
