Because thin women are more appealing as to where big women are a walking heart attack just waiting to happen..

I don't always want slim/slender women. I like average to curvy to a few extra pounds. My ex-girlfriend was overweight but was very pretty and was smart.

have seen thin guys with full curve women and heavy men with slender ladies.
even if all the men give their reasons why their attracted to a certain type, its not gonna change their attractions. has nothing to do with being a nice person. attraction is different than friendship.
same for women and attraction. main thing is to like who you are. if unhappy with weight then do something about it. if are okay, then find people who like you just the way you are.

LYNNIE63 AND ALL THE OTHER WOMEN WHO CAME IN AND COMMENTED ... I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE NOT FOR ALL MEN, BUT FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD HAVE THE LACK OF DECORUM, COMMON COURTESY, COMMON SENSE, LACK OF ANY MANNER OF CLASS, INTELLECT, SOCIAL SENSE OR GRACE AND OTHER SUCH SYNOMYMS TO TELL SOMEONE THEY SHOULD LOSE WEIGHT ... HOW TASTELESS ... SHAKING HEAD IN UTTER DISGUST ....

I agree with Capt. There are all kinds of men out there some like thin others BBW other average. Same as women each has their own preference. I just like a woman with a brain and common sense.

I don't post much on the forum's but I do read them. I happen to be a on the thick side, hell I'm overweight. I do remain with a positive attitude that I don't want someone that judges me by my weight or doesn't want to be with full figured woman. For that matter I don't want any man that doesn't want me.
2 months ago I quit looking or trying to find my soulmate, it was becoming too frustrating. Life it too short, I know it hurts when we are judged by our size, male or female, but do you really want someone in your life that can't accept you thick or thin? My answer is no, they have to want me for who I am.

I agree with most comments including medic. As a person with a few too many pounds....ok more then just a couple of extra....but we all know that its unhealthy and that we need to lose weight. It may be BBW right now, but give it a few years and its going to turn into MI - CPR - ICU - working in the healthcare field, I can think of all sorts of acronyms for "your weight is going to kill you."
I for one am working on that....I guess that could be a whole different topic. Instead of "attracted to thick or thin", perhaps what would you do if you met someone that may be heavier then you would usually date, but he/she is making a concerted effort to get in shape, lose weight and become more active.
I think people should accept people for who they are but, even as a heavy person myself, Im not attracted to the fat slob type - these are the "fat, proud of it and please pass me another donut". Nope - not for me.

Slender/thin is pretty rare in anyone over 30. I'm attracted to a great personality and an averagae body. No specific thing, but I'm not attracted to people that don't take care of themselves. Genetics play a large part in our choices of a mate. If ya grow up with a bunch of skinny people you will be attracted to and more acceptable to that body norm, on the other hand if ya grow up with a house full of large people ya gonna find it "acceptable."
As a man I want what makes me excited...

good point copter. but i think the issue here is the argument that what is actually average is being used by both extremes.
if one really believes in the BMI system then obese is obese, and yet many of those with bmi's over 30 insist they are average or "thick" and that anything below that is slender or anorexic.

I think the BMI is a little exreme depending on your reason for BMI skew. I am short, 5'9" but my BMI when I was in the service was borderline. My body fat was 12%. I rode bicycles for years carrying newspapers and I have big legs and arms, etc. They were talking discharge if I gained any weight. I only weighed 170.
Now as an adult I still have lots of muscle but the BMI was boderline obese at one point according to the VA hospital... lol I know obese when I see it and I wasn't nowhere near it.
Extreme bodybuilders I was in service with were discharged for the BMI skew... rediculous.
And I agree that soome people consider a few extra tons as average.... there is no help for that mentality... it's called distorted body image. My ex wifes sister had it and nearly killed herself with bulimia and she only weighed 80 pounds and thought she was a freakin' cow.

Kinda think the BMI thing is messed up. I was able to ONCE get to my 'ideal' body weight, and everyone who knew me thought i was horribly sick.. ribs showing, guant face, etc.
At 180lbs I am considered overweight. (?) at 200 I am obese. I can see 200 (what I am now) being overweight, bt I am not obese. I can walk for miles and miles without losing a single pound. I can work out all I want, and this is where I stay. It is only with starving myself can I get back to my 'ideal' weight of 165(Which at the time made me weak, no energy, was basically a husk of what I should be)
If your healthy, and can touch your toes without bending your knees, can take 5-6 flights of stairs, and likes to get physical activity, your fine.

yeah but the BMI is a good starting place and i was using it mostly as a standard since there are plenty of people that will say "its in the ey of the beholder" type bs
as for the whole body builder and such, i agree but those are extreme cases, if you are a body builder then you dont need a bmi to tell u that u are in shape lol. i have a 19 inch neck which skews the system. but the flap hanging over my belt tells me im overweight without using a scale

It probably just seems that way to you because the men you prefer just happen to like thin women. Since I have been on here I have had no problem. Actually I have been told they perferred a woman with a little meat on her bones. It is just a matter of choice.Let me assure you these are not run of the mill gentlemen. They are true, honest, quality gentlemen, that I have talked with on here, via personal e-mail, on the phone and one in person. Even have a proposal. So just hang in there, you just haven't met the right one yet.
