Not to overanalyze this, but it is interesting. I remember in one of the psych classes I took in college that there's actually a neurotransmitter in the blood stream that responds to blood/sugar levels. When you eat and your body begins processing the food, it causes your blood/sugar to rise which in turn triggers this neurotransmitter to start signalling your brain "ok, I'm starting to get full. I'm no longer hungery. Stop with the food." It turns out that a lot of people that are considered "overweight" actually have less of this neurotransmitter, causing them to eat more since it takes longer for enough of it to amass in the brain causing the signal to get through. There is also evidence that every person's body has it's own "ideal" weight that it strives to obtain. That's why it's so hard to not only lose weight but keep it off. Our own bodies are working against us. The other thing that my professor brought up regarding weight and desirability sexually speaking, is that the skinnier you are, the less efficient your body is at turning food into energy. Part of the reason Obesity is such a problem is that with the historically recent availability of food, (that is in the last 500 years or so, a drop in the bucket in human history really) our bodies haven't learned how to become less efficient and so we still crave food a lot but now have access to it and so gain weight where as before, we craved it a lot but could only get it now and again. You could say that if it wasn't for people that whose bodies are more efficient, we'd have been whipped out as a group, every time there was a famine. Having said that, we are all a product of our environment to some degree or another. I include myself in this, as although I know it is unfair and all, I still have trouble being attracted to women who are "overweight." We only have so much control over what we're attracted to. Now that I've put everyone to..

This one you can blame on the Media. TV and Magazines tell the general public what is hot and what is not. Most people are like sheep and just follow the crowd. Look back to when twiggy was hot. In reality, she was a very sick woman, but the public wanted to look like her. Whatever the media says is hot, is also what men go for the majority of the time. It's the same principal with new cars
