Quote from wwilson:Why do you feel uncomfortable when other men have emotions?
Just because you have sociopathic tendencies and do not understand that others have emotions, it doesn't mean no one else does.
Sometimes you are pretty funny, but right now you sound like an idiot.
What I feel isn't discomfort.. it's disgust.
But thanks for reminding me that I'm a sociopath... I'll be sure to let my next victim know that you feel I am an idiot.
Edit:
So, only REAL men cry? No, we don't need to cry to be "a real man". A man will shed blood before a tear runs down his cheek. Why is it that some people insist so much on changing us? Why is it that some people insist on portraying this crying as a sign of strength? Why can't you see the strength that it takes to do the opposite? We are not women, and we shouldn't strive to be like them. There is nothing wrong with women, I love them for being how they are, different from us, but neither them nor we should be trying to be more like the other. No, I don't cry easily, and that is not a sign of weakness or of me being less than a real man. The matter of the truth is that people may say all they want about how "real men cry", but in the end, we are seen as weak for it.

I wouldn't want a man that cried all the time no. However, I think that it is sweet when a man feels he can be himself and trust you enough to break down and cry in front of you. To me it says a lot about him, and us.
My ex was a man who didn't talk or share his emotions well, and on a couple of rare occassions he did break down and cry.
I know most men don't think that they should cry or show that side of themselves, but it is not a bad thing. We know that you have feelings too and that you just tuck them up a lot tighter then women do.
I applaud a man who is not ashamed to show that side of himself.

its not about strength.we all have our weaknesses, and who cares if someone doesnt cry. all some of us are saying, is if you dont have the ability to let out your emotions, then that could be a major problem. i couldnt care less who changes. thats not what this is about. if something extremely traumatic happens in someones life and they dont cry for whatever reason, i would concur that that person may have some serious mental issues. sociopaths are like this in a way, how they cannot differentiate feelings from one another. what i am seeing though is not sociopathic behavior, but instead, the grooming as children that our fathers have drilled in to some of you. dont cry, be a man, men dont cry. blah, blah, blah
now, does it take a real man to cry? no.
does it take a real man, not to cry? no.
does it take a real man to express how he feels without the guilt of worrying what others think? yes. JMHO

I can agree with that.
I was told growing up "Suck it up and be a man!"
I also have cried in front of girlfriends and they stopped being attracted to me.
So it's a like you said.. I stopped caring what others think of if I do or don't show emotion.

Well...it's better than him closing up and hiding all his feelings. Some guys get so busy being macho they lose sight of actually being human.

wow, this feels like its going to be a men vs. women thread on this subject. i guess maybe times havent changed on this topic.
** uh, how about Jason on the Bachelor (per my other thread i posted) when he has been seen crying quite a bit on TV about what he did to these women and "following his heart"? r u guys going to say that was not real or unmanly?
Don't even TRY to use The Bachelor as an example of how REAL people, (Men and women) act in real life! (You KNOW how I feel about those fake assed shows!)

I don't cry easily either. It has usually been when someone close to me has died. You and I could beat each other senseless and bloody and I would never cry, laugh maybe, probably curse but not cry. I will also usually go off by myself before letting someone see me cry, as I did after my mothers funeral 14 years ago.
But see, you even admitted you do at times cry, just not easily.
Just be careful not to do that in front of Beanz, or he may want to kick your ass, lmao.

dont listen to beanz. hes from another planet. ive held many of my brothers heads in my hands as they wept for their fallen brothers in action. point is, if youre not homophobic like beanz, its ok to show your emotion around other men.
Poor lefty..he has had me blocked for months because he is an example of a poor excuse for a man and couldn't take a few knocks from me (which a lot of women do without blocking and I admire them for it).
Apparently he is STILL taking heed of my posts all these months later
Someone quote for me please so he gets to see it ...'Hi lefty!..how's mom?'
Was just wondering if all guys who cry, do it with a 'lisp'???? (And that includes the soldiers') I was in the military myself, and lost a lot of good friends. Even felt guilty 'cause they were gone, and I was still alive. But, although I was sad, I never cried.

My idea of a real man is one that shows emotions at a time of loss or tradgedy. I don't like macho men to act like they have it all together. The human side of a man is what really attracts me to him. Guess it's why I'm alone. Most real men are gone now. If he crys- maybe he w ill have compassion on me if I suffer a loss in my life and stand by me when I need it most.
Not crying doesn't have anything to do with compassion. The two don't even belong together, in the same sentence. No one can look into my heart, and see what I'm feeling. And, yes, I can feel empathy, and compassion. But that doesn't mean I have to cry big ol' alligator tears, so everyone knows how I feel, and what a real man I am.

i call bullshit!!! theres too many fake a** people who claim to be in the military and werent even in ROTC!!!! if you had ever been near the front lines and actually seen any kind of action like some of us, you would definitely cry. i dont know ANYBODY that was there that didnt cry. ive seen some of the toughest motherf**kers in the world lose it after a raid patrol. oh and by the way, tell that limey fat f**k beans, to go back to suckin on the queen mums teet before someone actually finds out where he lives and goes to pound his arrogant english ass. the only reason i ever blocked that f*ggot was because he has a bad habit of disrespecting americans and military personnel. thanks,

Jeezus......I can't believe I got roped in to posting on a thread about crying men ...what was I thinking
this thread wasnt meant to make anyone mad. just like any other thread on here its meant to post opinions and u all have done that and continue to. u certainly dont have to agree w/how i feel about it. but i do recognize in answers to my question the ones that do acknowledge its ok to cry and the ones that dont think it is and the ones that could care less and crack jokes. so i still stick to my view of it that it is about emotions period and really its for men and women. i certainly dont sling snot at everything in the world...but i think its ok to show emotion even if its crying if i need to. sometimes we do it in private or alone and sometimes we do it w/others around. i will not raise my boys to think that to be men they shud hide their emotions and not cry if the need arises and the situation calls for it. i would question if they never did it. it shows the world that they r human! and its okay.
but i am glad to see that ppl care enuf to post in a thread that actually requires some serious thought about something real as opposed to some others. and unlike my BURGER THREAD i posted. of course that was for shits and giggles!

Police Sensitivity Training 101 at Work.
Chicago, Il.
(AP) Chicago Police today reported finding a John Doe
male body in the Chicago River. The victim apparently drowned due to
excessive narcotics consumption. He was wearing black fishnet stockings,
a red garter belt, a strap-on dildo, and an Obama t-shirt. He also had a
cucumber stuffed up his ass.
The police thoughtfully removed the obama t-shirt to spare the family any
unnecessary embarrassment. ..

You can scream BS, in you wailingest voice, from the rooftops.
Maybe in YOUR unit. I wasn't with a buch of pansy asses.
And, yes, I was in Viet-Nam, in the 101st Airborne. We didn't waste our time crying, we got even.
So shut the f**k up, and go cry about your dumb assed dog. LEG!!!
