I had a pic posted and pulled it today, partially because of stupidness going on in other topic areas. It was also a bit of a test of my thoughts on the subject. Yes, I did have more contact. Some didn't bother to read the profile. I am of average looks, it makes me sad to think what the truly beautiful ones must deal with. There were nice (kind) comments, too. I will go back to sending it to those I choose.

Why is a photo so neccesary in to getting to know a person? Isn't there anyone out there who is honestly interested in getting to know another person by what comes from their heart and soul and mind.. WITHOUT having to see a photo FIRST or somewhere along in the process?? Looks can be very deceiving and artificial and not truly show the real person inside. All you are looking at is an outer shell of the real person who is INSIDE. Is it because we are afraid of revealing our true inner selves that we hide behind a photo? I say forget the photo and try just getting to know someone for once by what comes from their heart. You may be surprised at the real image that is revealed.

top reasons i know of:
1) you're married, attached or in cognito
2) we are in the jetson age so no excuses in uploading a pic
3) perhaps you're not too keen about who you are --like someone that sits in front of a PC and controls their profile
4) If you feel it's ok to see someone else's pic and not yours you can delete your interest but are you playing fair...
5) post a pic will ya--esp by now since there have been 4 pages of responses so far to this thread==thanks

Follow your heart Lindylu. Share your pic with those you choose. Some will think you are hiding something and say so. I never even considered that until people started saying that was what people of the shadows do... and then I met some with pictures that were not even theirs. Not saying that is the case with any who have spoken here, but it has happened.

Don't let any bully you into doing something you don't want to do. I have witnessed several pictures taken and used hurtfully today in another topic and I do not see me posting a pic again. People can either read my words and feel that I am true or not. I really don't care enough to worry about it, because truthfully, the picture they are posting might not be them anyway.
