As most know today was my not only Thanksgiving it was my Birthday, I couldn't see my daughter because she went away, so I stopped at her apartment to drop off flowers and a Pie, knowing she would be home later, well she did get home, just to find she had been robbed, they took her $1500 Vidoe Camera, $450 X Box, Her Grandmothers Diamond Ear Rings that I gave her, $80 form her dresser, and 2 Pearl Necklaces, tore through all her stuff and its all my fault, I didn't lock the door when I left and someone came in and robbed her, what if she was home alone, now she is scared to death and can't stop crying, shes doesn't want me to leave, she is so scared, Who does this on Thankgiving, who robs a precious 19 yr old hard working girl that has never hurt anyone in her life, Its all my fault and instead of being Happy it was my Birthday, I wish I didn't wake up at all today. Sorry to hear about your bad fortune... today of all days. Its hardly a consolation, but your daughter just learned a valuable lesson - that life isn't always fair, and bad things sometimes happen to good people.

It is not your fault honey.....it is the fault of the asshole who did the robbing....locked ...un-locked...if some crack fiend wants to get in he will.....I am so very sorry that this happened....I have been mugged at gun point and had my home broken into so I truly know that it sucks.....

Hey Sweetromie, it's not your fault. I cover a lot of crime like this as a reporter. If these people wanted to break into her apartment/house, they would have whether the door was locked or not. They always try the door first on the odd chance it was left open, but if they wanted to get in, they were getting in -- locked door or not. There are a lot of lowlifes in the world -- an ever-increasing number of them, it seems to me. I'm sure you called the police and probably about half the time or better they get the perps in burglaries such as this. Most crimes like this are done for drug money -- and the thieves don't want any confrontation. If your daughter had been home, they probably would have broken into the building next door. They likely would NOT have done anything to her -- they'd have run. But if she wants you to stay with her, do so if you can. This stuff is all too common any more. But you didn't cause any of it -- it's everywhere. I do feel bad for both you and her. This society has hit rock bottom.

Anyone would be devastated and feel guilty in a situation like that even though it's not thier fault. I'm sorry to hear about what happen to your daughters apartment and her stuff, but just be thankful she wasn't there when they came in or even you, things can be replace over time but lives can't once they are taken, I don't know why bad things happen to good people but they are alot of nuts in this world today and its just not fair, but don't take it as its your fault because if the door had been lock they might have broke in anyway, so keep your head up babe and maybe they will catch these assholes that did this to her.
