Romie, we are only humans, and so we do make mistakes...I'm sorry this happened to you're daughter and you but its not you're fault that some loser decided he needed you're daughters things more than she did, yes, you may of left the door unlocked, but you did not invite them in....Just tell you're daughter you're sorry and be there for her...Its sad that we can't even leave our homes without worrying about someone coming in and taking our things, but its the way of the world these days...I don't think by locking the door it would of stopped them, if they wanted these things, they would of found a way in....Just thank God that she wasn't home...count your blessing, not your losses!!

I know this is a very difficult time to have this happen. Holidays are always hectic. Thank GOD she wasnt home though, you know. Its not easy to do but, pray for the ones who robbed. This is easier said then done, I know. If we turn it around and just do the opposite of what is expected of us, God sees that and honors that. I dont know if you have a relationship with Jesus or not but, I know that in order for YOU and your daughter to move on, one must forgive. Even when we dont feel like it. Verbally, tell God that your mad. Shout out to him and tell him to help you forgive the ones that invaded and stole. He will hear you and answer. Those things are things that can be replaced. Your daughters life is precious and she is still here. Pray for her too, that she will not allow this to paralyze her. She knows how much you love her. Pray for the ones who stole to be convicted and you just never know they could return the things, or they may not, but because of prayer... things can change. As you pray, you will start to feel yourself, seeing things with the eyes of a father who loves us so much. Im so sorry, you experienced this... but it is through these trials that we develop new growth on our limbs. Happy Birthday to YOU! You see, YOUR ALIVE! Daughter is ALIVE! that is something to CELEBRATE! LIFE!! Go out and make it the BEST DAY EVER! YOU are loved!
Sincerely
Rosemary

Hi Everyone erotic sorry to hear about you friend, my heart goes out to you and his family, flynaked also lost someone close to him, a 20 year old nieghbor, just to know that you and flynaked have had tragadies of your own and still took the time out to write to me means so much to me you don't even know, my daughter is sitting here and has just read all your post on this and can't thank you enough, she know sees why I spend so much time on here and every person on my friends list she now wants to know all about, you all made her smile through her tears and I can't thank you enough, we are now heading to the police station once again because we have taken inventory of all her stuff and now realize even more has been taken, she said they took everything expensive they could find and even tried to rip her 51 inch Plasma TV off her wall, I wish it would have fallen on their god damn heads, according to my nephew there was 3 of them and him, he still won't say who they are but the cops are not letting up and they will be found and punished, Thank you all again for your kind words and know Sam and I hold every single one of you dear to our hearts and we are there when ever you need us.
Thanks Romie

Hi Romie I just came on and read about your nephew. Like everyone else said I'm sorry to hear it was family, that sucks, but I'm sure it's a relief to know who it was instead of wondering and feeling like you have to suspect everyone. If you love your sister and nephew at all you'll continue to do what you did and prosecute. He has to learn from his mistakes. Sometimes all they get is a slap on the hand but at least he has the understanding that you won't put up with something like this.
Now your sister on the other hand thinking you'd do anything other than put his ass in jail is in a dream world, but probably knew something like this was coming if he was hanging with other guys that do this kind of stuff, she's just venting on you and hates herself more, but depending on how old your nephew is, all parents can only raise their children as best they can and then kids will do what kids are gonna do. It's out of our hands after a certain point so let the law deal with him. You have no other choice anyways. Once the DA accepts the charges, if you as the victim has a change of heart, a request for dismissal never flys. It's a crime he committed period. And over $500 is a felony so his ass is a little bit grass. Juveniles always talk and let the cat out of the bag of who the other culprites are. I bet your sister can give up a few names too and most likely will to help take some of the heat off her son.
Well, keep your chin up. Today's the day to smile and feel better than you did yesterday. Take a few days off, spend it with your daughter and when you feel better, go out shopping for shoes and eat chocolate! lol It'll put a smile back on your face. No joke. Always does me.

Romie, glad you and Sammi are ok! Now you really have something to be thankful for, your daughters safety....and knowing who did it....and possibly getting her belongings back. Now you (Sammie) move forward being cautious and careful, but live your life!

So your daughter's ok and you'll probably recover most of the stuff, and they caught at least the main guy responsible (your nephew). Let's get down to the really important thing here! Did he eat the pie?? jk. I am glad that your daughter is safe. I do also feel (and this may piss some people off but I gotta say it) sad for the fact that your nephew comes from such a twisted place in his life that he's willing to do that to anyone, much less family. He can't feel very good about himself to do those kinds of things and may be involved in drugs, etc. Having said that, hopefully the judge will throw the book at him and give him a nice wake up call, that he sorely needs, so he can get his life somewhat back on track. I came home to find a burglar at my house when I was in the 7th grade, so I know how your daughter feels, at least on some level. Her trust issues will heal. Just be there for her as you have been and keep cranking out those pies!!

Don't blame yourself. Like other people have already said, the person who did this would have probably gotten in anyway. I'm glad your daughter wasn't harmed.

Romie, it was not your fault. When I was younger I was on vacation in a hotel and forgot to lock the patio door. We were robbed because of it. Do not blame yourself. Be thankful that you and your daughter were not hurt. Happy Birthday
