If you feel someone is worth taking the time to wink at then just maybe they are worth a few words.

Hot...you said " if a lady says she don't like winks in her profile I can understand that to I never do but for Gods sake its just a wink its not like somebody ask you to go to bed with them."

You are right.. it isn't like you asked to go to bed with them. In fact, it isn't like you asked or said anything. In fact, it is that you said nothing at all. That is the whole point. You finally got the point, but maybe you didn't even realize you finally showed that you did.

Mr Passion, my point was that if someone ACTUALLY read my profile, they'd see that I am not dating at this point in my life. If Mr. Wonderful literally dropped smack dab into my lap, he might stand a small chance of getting my attention. I don't have it to give to anyone right now. But if Mr. Wonderful READ my profile, he'd know that a wink wouldn't do it!

Thanks for calling me a liar. It's about as appealing as a wink!

Thanks Busyman... some of us have found out that posting in the forums / groups does lead to getting to know others, making friendships, dating and, in some cases, finding the love many of us seek.

Okay jumping in again, and should probably stay out of this- but I can't hold my tongue any longer...

Mr P.: As to standards, I would hope that every person here who is serious, and we all know there are those who are not, would have standards that they are seeking in relating to other people. I don't think the intention of dating sites is to further increase the percentages of divorces in this country beyond what it already it is... And if we go to 80% in our society, God help us all!

Mr. P., you have standards don't you? Or are you willing to get involved with a lying, cheating, steeling, addict? I don't think so, I think you are looking for that special person to share your life with.

I would hope that anyone who receives an email would have the courtesy to answer one. That being said - say you recieve 10 emails a day and it takes a max of 5 minutes to answer each one and 5minutes to review the profile that is 10 x 10 = thus an 1hr and 40 minutes of time put into responses.

I think the point is, many people here get winks they take the time to read the profile and out of courtesy have sent a short email, or wink back, and recieve a wink in return. Say it takes 6 minutes to do this and you have received 15 winks = Again thats an hour and 30 minutes... for what "a wink back?"

Again JMO but it makes sense to me. Take the time, if you want time put into it.

P.Win

BTW: Mr. P nothing personal, you just happened to be the one to speak on standards.

I am glad that someone finally said something about the winks. I hate them. When I get a wink I feel as if the guy was thumbing through profiles and looking for someone to wink at.
If it is only one sentence I would much rather an email. At least I know he took the time to type the one sentence.
