come on reaper777 i don't wink i mostly send an emil but there is reason to get personal every man on here have the ball to talk back just alot of them need someone to talk to now myself no cause as a business owner i might be in here are night not only friends is my reason for being here i know that if and when i need someone to love if i can't find someone in this big town then it is not meant to be i use date site to meet new ppl not fall in love cause the chances are i wont never meet them in person

I think we are looking too far into this wink thing. If a guy winks at you, he has most likely read your profile and likes what he sees. Instead of just writing out his life story, he wants to check and see if you are interested in him too, esspecially if you are two hundred + miles away.
I try to keep my options open. If their profile isn't a link to some sex site and they wink at me, I will at least write them a short message.
This wink approachs sounds very close to some of the responses women get from emails on here. They just delete it after getting an ego boost.
Whatever, you do it your way and I will do it my way.
Who is to say what is right? But I am not going to cut off the chance to meet someone cool because they "winked" at me.

Hero, my major beef against winking is the fact that I keep getting them when my profile CLEARLY states that I don't like them...Now, if someone has taken their time to read my profile in the first place, they would know that and NOT wink at me....

jmo..but I really do not think it is a female/male thing. Some women, like winks, some don't..some men like winks, some don't. Maybe we have to spend a little more time reaching out to others when we want to get to know them better. It is a personal preferance, regardless of gender.

Actually, 90% of the women who initiate contact with me write a quick email. Only 10% wink. about a third write a couple paragraphs.
Anyway it's nice to know how the women feel about it. It just gets me one step closer to meeting the one who is right for me.

personal preference...i do rather an email,however what happens when somebody special just isnt the 'email' type. i dont give as much credence to winks,but i don't ignore them either....except the ones i get from guys

Wiley, prior to today I always replied to a wink with a thank you...often not hear anything back...or a...What's Up?...to getting another wink, ho hum..again. I was another date site (paying one) and really have never seen anything very good come from the wink. A person can tell so much from the written word, it is as important as a list of interests. To you and the other gents that have at least listened...restores my faith.

That makes sense Vik. I guess what I am saying is that I don't think winks should be completely banned just because some people don't like them. I understand your concern. Maybe they are picking on you and have read your prof.?

lotus- ya,there are some who send a bazillion winks and keep winkin even after you reply.i think they are only good for those who cant thik of something to write.i'm anal about reading profiles and i expect most women at least read mine.the worst thing is when you see a profile and it is soooooo short it gives almost nothing to talk about.i will wink or ask he why she's being so secretive
