I'm with you there Ake might just stop winking all together and then the next time a sweet lady winks at me I'll just send her a e-mail and tell her if she can't take the time to e-mail me instead of winking she just needs to move on.

I understand your frustration. Maybe you just don't understand ours. I won't speak for anyone else here but for a woman whose profile clearly states that she won't respond to winks, I get an insane number of them on a daily basis. What does that tell me? That someone didn't read my profile. If I were dating, the one who would get my attention is the one who takes the time to put a couple of sentences together to see if there is a mutual interest. Why is that so hard?
I'm sure there are women here who enjoy winks. Just take the time to read a profile and know which ones they are!

I disagree. As unappealing as I may be, the wink serves a useful purpose. Certainly you can choose to ignore it, but I find that there are more repsonses to winks than emails. True, not from those as highly desireable as yourself, but repsonses nontheless.

Ake---- you're probably the exception rather than the rule when it comes to checking out the profile. If what we've described doesn't apply to you, then it doesn't.
A simple one-line email as a couple of the ladies have described a few posts back is sufficient and it doesn't leave the receiver of the email wondering the intent. Simple.... very simple.

Yea Leila I do have a sense of humor besides being nice to people I love to have fun and I thoughts winks were part of the fun here on this site, like I said I do repect ladys that say on their profile they don't like winks and they don't get any from me.
so I'm out of here for now its been fun and winks to all the ladys that want them and see ya later to the ones that don't

It's all good... I have read many profiles that state they don't reply to winks... but to tell the truth, and I always do, Sometimes I have a hard time writing an email. I don't know what to say. Sometimes I read what I wrote and think it sounds korny, so I erase it all and end up with one or two sentences.

Cooldude - yes it took me that long to figure that out! - what you've written is perfect. If there's a mutual interest there, she'll respond. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of men who see this and steal your lines! A few personal lines are always better than a wink or (shudder) the generic broadcast email.
