I have a number of things that could be called disabilities.
I got here because I have been hearing impaired since childhood and it has caused problems in relationships. People with hearing impairment tend to withdraw from what are considered normal activities for others.
I guess I hear as well as anyone on a computer screen.

I have congestive heart failure, diabetes, and even though my lungs are clear now low oxygen level. I am overweight and think weight loss is the answer to 99% of my problem.
I use oxygen at home but am private pay and refuse to pay $25 for each portable tank.

Bi-polar, ocd, and I'm in recovery from crack and meth mostly but, I don't really see them as disabilitys anymore. Even as I zing through my house, or get so down I don't want to get up, or have any type of craving for drugs, God enables me to grow stronger each day Without them I wouldn't be where I am today and with them I can totally, from my own experiences, relate to how others feel and maybe have an opportunity to pass on the Hope and Good News! I just keep putting on God's Armour. There are those days that I am reminded how bad these diseases try to hurt me or bring me down, but God has given me many outlets! For one thing, I know God has already delivered me, he led me to a wonderful doctor who diagnosed me with bipolar2 and new exactly what medicines would help, He's given me a way to express my feelings in a rational, safe, and kind to myself way, Great recovery meetings, and numerous people along the way, including some folks from DH

I have OA in my spinal column so the pain radiates throughout all my bones, osteoporosis, and scoliosis. Ive been in pain for over 10 yrs and finally went for a bone scan couple of years ago and found all this out. I just thought it was because I was getting older.
Also, my mom died with bone cancer, so that kind of scared me and Dr too, luckily its not cancer, so I can deal with the aches......... most days.

Chron's Disease, Glaucoma, Diabetes, hypertension, Heart disease, Depression and anxiety, impotence, low self esteem, no cell phone, gall stones; who knows what else. oh, and alone in a world of billions of course. Do you think there is any chance that with this and all the emotional baggage, I'll ever get a chance to live before it's lights out? Do people out there actually talk or is all this just a big yuk?

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia this past year although I've had symptoms for many years it just got continually worse and took the docs awhile to figure it all out. It is very much systemic with me unfortunately and my main support, my fiancee of seven years, left me because he couldnt deal with it. He really wouldnt deal well if he actually felt the 24/7 pain that never seems to subside. I hope there are nice supportive understanding men out there who wont hold this against me. I try not to let it interfere in my life much. I hide my discomfort well i think.

I want to thank all of you for the great input. I was diagnoised with depression right after I had my first chemo treatment back in 2008. I am in remission, thank God, now I have fallen for an angel at DH and we have been dating for almost 9 months. My soon to be ex walked last year in November. By looking and reading your questions and responses I have learned some valuable lessons from you wonderful human beings. My Lady has several Manufactors defects as I saw one lady here call it. She is in pretty much constant pain even with pain patches and pills. I have mistakingly thought I could do something to "fix" her and by reading replies on this group I found that not to be true. Thank you for getting me on the right path with my lady. She is a wonderful person and deserves better than me but, I am all she can afford right now.....

I have 3 herniated discs in my low back which cause constant pain that travels down both legs and makes it very difficult to stand for very long, so I use a wheelchair whenever I leave the house. I have had to deal with this for more than 10 years. I was very depressed for a long time but I'm doing better now.
