The forum's usually pretty dead, unfortunately. A few people and I tried to get it going but it fizzled out. Nobody ever has anything to say, it seems. Maine sucks.

Yeah I'd like to have some discussion, but it just doesn't seem to be happening.
Mostly it seems to be a bunch of bickering when there is a discussion, or somebody posting about how sad they are.

wow at least you guys hop on and say something to try and get this going in iowa i have gone in and it will be the same thing for months, this is much more exciting. and all the people that go boowhoo im sad let me intruduce you to my boss you will be happy in a hurry, i laugh at his boowhoos everyday. if you think you have problems spend an hour with him and you have no problems at all
there maybe that will get maine going lol

hello all ive recently moved back here to my hometown of boothbay 1 yr ago today from being in ny the past 20 yrs and man its sure not like it used to be when i was gtowing up here thats for sure i miss all the guys who were hitting on me back then now they stay in their closets lol oh well even though it is this way a part of me is happy to be back but its sure not new york!!!!

Welcome to hell! Maine's not the place to be if you're under 35, single, or, lack an existing social circle that you could meet new acquaintances or dates through. It can be rough! Especially, if you've lived somewhere with life! Somewhere where everything doesn't shut down by 9pm except for Denny's or bars. It's bad enough in Southern Maine. I can't even image what it's like further north?!
We have the oldest average population in the country. Most young people get the hell out by the time they're out of high school or college. A few come back later on when they start raising families.
If you like nature and being surrounded by near poverty, outrageous rents/taxes (and few decent jobs to afford to pay them)piss poor roads, and only having three months of warm weather per year, than I guess Maine is o.k.? If you're young, single, and want to mingle with other young singles (who don't come with kids) It's not the best place to be! Especially from November-May.
Frankly, I find more conversation on the 'Maine Sucks' Facebook group, than I do on here. Great place to gripe to other Mainer's who also want to gripe about daily life in Maine!
