The other day I was with my friends, and a new guy comes whom I've never met, I've over heard some part of his convo with this girl, he asked if he can hang out with friends for a few hours, I thought to myself how pathetic. And realized, why he had a girl and I didn't. But, yeah, my motto to the world is "control yourself, not me!"

My GF and I may talk quite a bit in person, however we are hard pressed to talk longer then 10 minutes over the phone. With us it's more conveying info, like "I am going by Carpinito's on the way home. What would you like from there?" So some just want the control, others just are gabby. My 2 cents at least.

xavierm1979 Toledo, OH 35, joined Aug. 2011	I cant speak for girls but I do enjoy talking and here are a few reasons: 1) I spend 10 hrs a day typing emails to engineers and dorky business men so it is nice to hear from someone who isnt interested in manufacturing equipment. 2) Most of my friends have something to say not just "hey" 3) it takes 20 texts to figure out what time you are getting together instead of 30 seconds of conversation.

No guy calls that late (or early) unless he has bootie on his mind.... he's working nights and is bored.... or calling while his wife or gf is sleeping. Look at the caller ID before you pick up the phone. I only answer late night calls, when it's my S/O, a family member or a client. (The latter 2 are probably emergency calls.)

I totally enjoy the calls that go on for hours when we've got something to talk about. Talking is so much more personal and more easily interpretted than email or text. If it's not a conversation that's going somewhere, then keep it short and sweet. I just don't like being tied to that phone........rather have you there in person.

It has been my experience that if the conversation flows easily, it can be enjoyable for both parties, and time can go really quickly. I'd rather have a nice phone conversation than text. When I am in a relationship, I want to talk to the person. If they live in the same town, the conversations happen in person. If they live elsewhere, "phone dates" replace the in person conversations because they are the only option. If you want to hang up, then end the conversation.

But you're agreeing to talk, and then subsequently scared of retribution if you want to finish the call. She wants to keep talking (this is an assumption) because she wants to know how you feel, and like prev ppl have implied, you might not be answering. So the only action BTW you two is when you say you want to get off the call, which can be interpreted as rejection by her. In short, Id suggest opening up more during the conversation, and being more decisive in getting off the phone. You can choose not to engage in the argument. (the argument is also a- a show of emotion & b- engaging keeps you on the phone longer). Just my two cents.
