I need to find out about a rose growing on the west side of my yard .
when I moved in it was grown way above the trellis and full of deadwood so in the fall I prunned it way back. The first spring it came back but no blooms the first year.
the second year it started blooming.
the blooms are small(2 1/2 to 2 inch diameter)and they are allmost white except they have a slight green tint? And they are very fragrant and they are compound blooms.
does anyone know the name of this rose??? sorry no pictures camera broken right now.
thanks..

Could be it's an old native rose. I have one growing back in the field similar to what you describe. I was told they were the real roses before the hybrids were developed.

It could be a wild rose
or a wild tea rose. Its exciting to see what it will become as you care for it

I only trimmed it in the fall the first year it had layed over the trellis and I was afraid it would break the trunk .it had been growing wild for years and had a lot of dead wood.
