I've tried reaching out and saying hello to a few of the people here that I perceived to be fellow liberals.
The results were less than heartening.
Based on what I've picked up from some of the posts, the conservatives here talk to each other all of the time in the background. They even work together, sending each other info to help with their side of the argument.
I wish I saw more of that here. I wish we liberal progressives would reach out and just touch base and say hello to each other more often, either in a thread or in the background.
It seems like we're the ones about a collective effort, yet we're all the loners, and the conservatives are the ones all about "doing it yourself" yet they cooperate more in both the background and the fore.
I wish we could change that, somehow.

I wish we could change that, somehow.
well, it's a bit like the mob with pitchforks, axes, torches all rev'd up to kill the village threat. I see their frame of mind as an emotional reaction to a perceived threat. There's not a whole lot of room for rational dialogue.

Yeah, it is like that.
I will say that, at least on other internet bulletin boards, I have in the past worked with other liberals, defeating the conservative arguments for whatever absurdity they were justifying at the time (like torture, for instance)...but I don't see any of that here at all.

Insane people gravitate to each other to reinforce their delusional thinking. Whereas sane liberals don't need to.

I think because liberals have been so successfully degraded by Fox and conservatives that people are afraid to open their political beliefs to people without being afraid. It is far easier to claim you are a conservative even though most people when faced with the true characteristics of their views would shun away for it.
I feel it is necessary to remind people of the liberal cause and how it has benefited people on both side of the spectrum. I rather doubt that Palin would have been a vice president candidate if conservative from the 50's would have had any say. People forgot liberals made that happened!

Liberals are just flaky. The dedicated and responsive are on the far left. We mean business! None of this "compromise" within a capitalist system. Burn the whole "American Nightmare" down!
