Thanks, Gazzer. I had a friend (when I was younger) that raised all kinds of birds. He had some silkies and I was wondering how difficult they were to keep. I know they can't fly but that is about all I know about them except that they are actually beautifully fluffy instead of feathery.

Hope your "brood" dies well this year.

Out hear your John Deere H would bring between $1600 & 2300 in the condition I picture it may be in at this time. The more stuff it has the better usealy

Water table is improved some but still low after the exteeme drouth of last year.
for right now were doing ok but bring on the heat & wind & shut off the rain and we will be back in trouble quick

The hand clutches are really nice on the John deeres!! I have two really favorites the John Deere G and the farmal M! They are quick and classy!

The John Deere 730 I also love because its a great sounding diesel and jus a fun tractor.

I'll be raking hay for my dad soon. He still uses a '52 model 8N. He has newer John Deeres but that little tractor works great pulling a rake.

I miss my granddads old truck. He had a '48 Chevy farm truck. 3 on the tree and a little fan was the AC. Was fun to drive except when it was raining. It had vacuum powered windshield wipers. They worked as fast as u drove and that little truck didn't go very fast. Lol!

I have a 1949 Chevy 5 window shortbed pickup spoted that I would kind of like to have for my self, It is all original except for the motor and it is a 1967 235 with a head on it from an old stock car I was told. Truck seems very solid yet. I'm not shure that I know just what something like it is worth today? Was told it runs but not well

The fire truck title was lost or missing on the 1944 chevy 4x4 I have but my friend that had it just found it a few days ago This is a big reasion I have not realy ever started to work on it as it is going to be expencive right off just buying new tires all around on it and I had decided it would be foolish to stick big money in it with out the title. I had a plan for geting a copy made if the original never showed up but I am sooooo glad it did I plan to put it back as it was in 1944 hopefuly.

Gazzer ~~ I was looking through some old family photographs lately and came across one of my late brother.

I immediately thought of you when I saw the pic. My brother was sitting on his old tractor that he completely refurbished.

I thought you might be able to tell me what kind of tractor it is.

As soon as I can upload the pic I will post it here.

Old tractors are still usable-but we can see how an invention gets improved over time-the starting out with a good Idea-using the thinking-that improves into a better one for same usefulness.

I've never been too sentimental about equipment untill now. My very good friend traded his 861 ford to me about 10 years ago and I liked it a lot, very dependable. During my divorce I needed money for an attorney and had to sale it. Last week my good friend gave me 15 acres and my first thought was, I must get the tractor back and bring it home to the place it was bought for. Hope I can do it.

Does anyone know if a rear tractor tire rim that has a 6 to 7 inch crack in the tire rim can be welded ? I see no reasion not to but have never or remember anyone doing so

Found the crack after cutting the old tire off for new tires.

I welded a tractor rim that had the hole where the valve stem was that was rotted out about twice as big as it was supposed to be. Haven't had any problems but it is a tube type tire.

Since you have such a great affinity for old tractors have you ever considered advertising for those old machines that may be going to the scrap yard, pay the scrap fee amount and refurbishing them?
