I saw a Tarus .22 mag, snub nose relovler that I really like...I've killed deer with a .22 mag so I think it's big enough to carry...and it is far easier to shoot and hit what I am shooting at....If not the Taurus .22 mag I would go with the Tarus .44 mag....revolver, snub nose....something small enough to stick in my pocket withour a holster...

I like 1911s but they're too damned big for concealed carry unless you're bundled up like a eskimo. I love the Ruger Blackhawk Convertible (357/38/9mm) but it's not very comfortable unless it's holstered, openly. I had a pair of Remington .380 'wh*re pistols' (pearl grips and all...) but they'll too valuable to carry these days, so I usually just use a old .45/.410 Derringer. Nothing fancy, fits you your pocket good if you don't have on tight pants. It's good enough to get to the truck to where the good stuff is... maybe. I've had several .22s that were fine, beats a sharp stick but don't like to go lighter then a 38 Special.

http://www.deathvalleymag.com/2010/04/12/urban-survival-is-your-self-defense-edc-getting-out-of-hand/

That's a pretty good article on what and what not to carry. I kinda used to do what he's talking about and know more then a few people that have more weapons then their local PD.

I keep it simple, but one thing I've never thought about is a decent pepper stray. I don't use batons either but used to carry a little tire beater with me since i'm a truck drive and it had a little lanyard I could attach to my belt. I NEVER ever leave home without a decent blade though, ever. It's just not thinkable.

I've love to have Batmans Utility Belt though, that'd be cool.

I like this one. Sig P250 subcompact 12+1 DAO the trigger is a bit heavy compared to my Glock 26 though it is slimmer. I load both with Hornady XTP 124 grain hollow points. I can hit gallon jugs at 50 yards with no problem. At 100 yards if I have a couple of shots to walk up to it. I can usualy hit the jug in less than 5 shots.

I have a S&W sigma series 9mm I bought back in 07. I've put probably 800 rounds through it at the range and I have no regrets in buying that gun. However I'd love to own a .357 Magnum revolver to keep in the night stand by the bed.

I've carried 100 or so different handguns in my time ( not all at once mind ya) different handguns for different reasons . I carried for a living.

These days,I find myself carrying either a Keltec .380 or a S&W j-frame airweight.357 the majority of time unless I'm going somewhere where I see the need to carry something a bit more formidable.

Also EDC, I carry a Leatherman multi-tool, some para-cord ,small LED flashlight and a package of Quick-clot.
