Way too little info - fresh or salt water? ? ? bait or artificials? ? ? Day or night? ? ? If a cold front had just gone through, nothing is moving. For salt, the biggest tides are now with the new moon, not the full. Too many variables.

The moon affects the tides and barometric pressures. I do not do good when fishing for catfish on full moons but it doesnt seem to affect sand bass.

I have found full moons can effect Snook fishing in the keys but Mangrove Snapper gets better.

Well when the day comes that I only fish inland or that I only talk of fishing inland, I might be in deep trouble. However the moon also affects the fishing on inland lakes as well.

Learned a long time ago that it's useless to go chasing stripers here on a full moon. They can see as well at night as we see in daylight. Jigging offshore is a bit different, as the moon WILL push currents differently.

Can't tell why a full moon is not good for fishing, but I can tell you a new moon, i.e. no moon is very good fishing.

No moon: the fish see the Fireflies/bugs flashing above the lake.
Full moon: they see you/your boat, and that silly thing you think looks like food!!

Some lakes here seem to have little or no night bite, on others it's the best time to be there.

i have heard that if you plan on gigging flounder & they see two moons there out of there in a flash , that if you plan on doing that type of fishing its best to go when its pitch dark out side.but other wise i cant help you

In waters with a lot of phosphorus as salt water here in Florida the best time is on the full moon as the line does not glow when pulled through the water. We only fished for snook at night when the moon was bright growing up here. Still catch more on the moon at my East Coast Shrimping Camp, but maybe that is because the shrimp move then and more fish are in the Inter-Coastal Waterway to eat them If you want fun not food try a top water lure on the dark of the moon-the ladyfish and phosphorus put on quite light show
