There was no recession. You could find a job anywhere. If u didnt like yr job you told yr boss you wanted to quit and they fixed the problem so you would stay.
And yr paycheck actually covered yr bills.

It was 1994. After about 8 years of working seismic and the oilfields I started welding school to learn a new trade. It was summer, the fishing was good and vaginas were everywhere. Funny how a song can take you back in time.

I still fantasize about an ice cold "glass" bottle of pepsi on a hot summer day.
I used to leave the house with my fishing pole, walk to the corner store, (about a mile) pick enough bottles out of the ditch on my way to buy a cold bottle of Pepsi and a big 79¢ bag of nacho cheese Doritos...Stop at the river on the way back to fish and swim.
Did this almost every day of the summer.
Why the hell did I have to grow up?

If we're going back anywhere... I remember Saturday mornings were cartoon day. It payed off to get up extra early to watch cartoons and enjoy a bowl of Count Chocula ( frankenberry was for pussies...like my little brother).

We only had three channels plus UHF if the rabbit ears and tin foil were just right.

I have very fuzzy memories of seeing the glass jugs on some peoples porch steps in the morning. I must have just barely caught the end of that trend.
I remember kids calling their friends out to play instead of knocking on the door. To be honest I've only seen that in Ferndale Mi. I forgot all about it until I went back to that neighborhood as an adult. They still do that today in Ferndale.

Yea, there were a lot of violent shows back then. I can't even guess at how many ways I've seen the coyote get creamed.
The three stooges used to scare the shit out of me when I was little. They'd rip each others hair out and poke each other in the eyes....Then everyone would laugh. I was thinking..."what the hell is wrong with you people, he just poked his eyes out?"

Yes and I was also afraid of my Grandmother when she watched Tom Jones. She would scream out of the blue when he danced. Other than that she was always fairly calm. was a jeykle and Hyde thing.

Look at this goofy f**ker go,lol.
