If you go by the Biblical creation story, God created Adam and Eve by hand. The rest was created by the word of God. Modern man is generations removed from original creation.

I fell out of favor with the Church around 1975 soon after confirmation. I became interested in reading the Bible and soon realized how bad the Church was messing it up. Today, I'm spiritual, but without a spiritual home. I'm a homeless spiritualist, for lack of a better term. Churches remind me more of country clubs, just without the golf course and tennis courts out back. I know people who need help from the Church they belong to. The first thing the Church wanted to see is financial statements. Their financial advice to this family was to foreclose on their current house and come back when they're homeless. Apparently, if you don't pay the Church enough money they won't help.

Heretic, noun, a person holding an opinion at odds with what is generally accepted.

If that's me...I embrace it!

Heretic! Me too, probably.

Don't forget to check out The Urantia Book, if you haven't already. It's sort of The Thinking Man's Christianity, without all the BS. This is the one to get, for about $18 at Amazon.com, below.

This goes for you too, mrogers022.

"Peace be upon he who follows the guidance."

PS- mrogers022. Why does you profile say Christian?

Thank you. I have started reading it. To me, knowledge is power. Unfortunately, I tend to be sort of a lone wolf. If our paths meet I'll be happy to walk with you. Eventually, our paths will separate. That's the same reason I'm still single. I join the ratrace every day because I have to. The only time I'm comfortable is alone.

Dare I say quantum Christian communist here. Chuckle.

Quote from nonstandard:

The kingdom is within everything , we just have to learn how to play the same tune .

Good stuff being said leading up to Non's response above.(sorry, imported from another forum). It is extremely important, but not as important as all of us harmonizing that tune together.

Well said non.

Our system of capitalism,(owning the forbidden fruit to be as gods), divides us and a house divided cannot stand. It is anarchy,(cunning beastly harlotry).

We have been granted a heart beat and the will to survive(evolve)but not the(free)will power over our hearts. That would be the preverbal "fountain of youth". <-- It does exist however, and you might have heard it labeled the "Tree of Life", we have just temporarily forfeited our birthright to it by consuming the forbidden fruit,(practicing capitalism).

Our mission(Life's purpose)is then to unite in agreement(belief)to sever the umbilical chord of division so we can vividly blossom in the enlightened harmony of an infant of the Lord God(expanding universal energy). When we inevitably achieve unity again we will unlock a vast amount more control of that energy.

It is a physical fact that energy cannot be destroyed, only transformed.

That energy we are of is our soul, each has a personal piece, known as your life and I am fond of thinking of it as sand that we forge into beautiful glass flowers. We can influence and inspire with force, which risks chips and cracks in our flower, or we can inspire with our beauty, but after each material life has ended, the universe will have little use for broken glass and will return it to sand, but an intact flower will blossom in magnificent inspiration as a living cell in the tree of life.

After our(humanity's)birth united as one life we will interactively enjoy a living community in the flesh with all the living energy of the tree of life. We must be bonded in love and belief because the hateful inspirations of division would surely destroy and even extinguish our existence if divided we were allowed full dominion of our potential. See my profile description for a bit more quantum definition.

We purr, share tear, been wet our hand.
And from, sheep's cloth, a lion is born.
No fear, tis near, god's victor strick land.
Together, as one, our kingdom hasn't a thorn.

My life is not my own,
It is my soul's I've always known.

I just eat and talk,
It is my heart that does the walk.

No, I don't know how you feel.

You can't feel how you think you feel about The Urantia Book because you haven't read it.

You have to read it to believe it or even to have "feelings" about it. You don't know what it is.

I have mixed feelings about Urantia, Much of it that I have read I disagree with, but some of it I do.

But I cannot argue at all with your statement here, nothing wrong with following a theory when it is qualified it as you have here, as "follow Jesus first'.

I my self have studied the Kabbalah some what. And while I reject the mystic voo doo part of it that so many Holly Wood new agers seem to push now days. I do subscribe to a lot of the 'physics of our relationship to the creator explained by Kabbalah . And in fact, find some of them are alluded to in the Bible, if in a vague sort of way.

The writings of Jewish rabbi Isaac Luria.in the 15th century , and comparing that to what science is discovering today? Blows me away in many ways.

Most Christians will jump on their particular choice of a band wagon and spout their rhetoric they use to judge other Christians , no doubt about it. But then most of the ones that do this are them selves, followers of the signs and wonders brigade in Christianity them selves. So I pay them no heed.

So I judge Urantia the same way I do any thing out side of Scripture, including my studies on the Kabbalah, on a issue by issue basis.

Anyway, I like to describe my self as a Christ Follower. I have a hard time with the label Christian, as it is such a broad label that one has to hyphenate it.

And I do not fit into any camp really. I do attend an Anglican church but am not a member. But they accept all there, which so few churches do now days.

I lean towards universal Salvation, the Eastern Orthodox doctrine of Theosis and its doctrines concerning the the 'fall of man and regeneration of man" rather than the original sin and total depravity of man stuff, spouted by the Roman Catholics and embraced by Protestants.

So probably am closest to Eastern Orthodox in most issues. But they lose me with they are the one "true " church , closed communion and relic/ symbols stuff.

So I attend the Anglican because they welcome me even though they know we disagree on some doctrines.

I am simply a Christ Follower.

No, I do not expect you to understand.

But studying the make up of the Universe and the physics of God is not the same thing at all.

Its the difference between astronomy and astrology. One is warped to draw people away from the Creator and give them faith in the astrologer rather than God.

Maybe more Christians should study Judaism and its older versions, and they would have a better understanding of their Christian faith. And then they would not be so ready to run off after false prophets and scammers.

No, the ones who demean the "Christian Faith", are the ones promoting the false prosperity doctrines and claim they are Prophets.

I have never known a Jewish person who demeaned Christianity. And my late first wife was Jewish and I was stationed in Israel twice in the 70`s.

But the false prosperity teachers? so called modern day Prophets? They demean the Christian faith. They put a price tag on it and sell it.

That is demeaning the "faith".

So... because your wife was Jewish you feel empowered to be a judge of morality of others instead of God?

The Bible says "judge not lest ye be judged".

Seems to me the Bible relates the story of the Jewish Pharisee judges. Oh yes, they are there Council which crucified my Savior Jesus Christ.

Whatever ISNA.

You may translate as you will. Simply because you spin another's words into something you say if means doesn't make it so. It makes you appear the foolish one.

You state what assume I was attempting to "imply"? Trust my word on this, when I post something it isn't my implication. I am not intimidated to speak anything less than what I mean. Bank on that.

Then, in all your self-importance and grand ability to "know" all and be capable of discerning a person's innermost thoughts and feelings you go to another forum and make a false prophet claim that you have have been called Satan.

Instead of extending the life we have , maybe we should start , by appreciating the life that we have .

Quote from cupocheer:
Proud to be a Christian.

The bible has NOTHING good to say about pride.

Are you proud to be an American?

Proud to be white?

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain. Psa_73:6,

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Pro_8:13,

"When pride cometh, then cometh shame:" Pro_11:2

Pro_11:2 "In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride:"

Pro_14:3 "A man's pride shall bring him low." Pro_29:23

Isa_25:11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain. Psa_73:6,

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Pro_8:13,

"Pride goeth before destruction..." Pro_16:18

"Only by pride cometh contention:" Pro_13:10

"When pride cometh, then cometh shame:"

Pro_11:2 "In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride:"

Pro_14:3 "A man's pride shall bring him low." Pro_29:23

Isa_25:11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

Eze_16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Eze_16:56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,

Eze_30:6 Thus saith the LORD; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.

Oba_1:3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Mar 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: Mar 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

1Jn_2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
