More than anything I miss the companionship and that "belonging to someone" feeling. I miss being the reason someone smiles. I miss the companionship, being the person they can't stop thinking of. I miss being a best friend and sharing even the littlest of moments and conversation. I'm so tired of missing and want to be missed, craved, wanted and needed. I want to be someone's smile, the one person they cannot wait to get home to see again. I was never alone. Went from being a teenage senior in hs to married, to a mommy, then divorced and back with mom, then married again... Being widowed just days before my 36 bday, I had to learn very quickly to adapt to being alone. I've known widows and widowers alike that married a few months later, even weeks... I've done my healing I'm ready... Good luck OP! I think many here can relate to everything that's be said. That's why I really enjoy this forum.

I think sometimes we just want to pick up where we left off and not have to learn someone new. We want a placeholder. It's easier and familiar and we know who we are in that respect. You have to learn who you are in the new life you have, and look forward to learning someone new, and then learning who you are together.
