Back of the car camping vs. backpacking. Something seems odd about this topic.

Original poster, what qualifications are you looking for in a camping buddy? How are you going to screen candidates? What are you wanting to discuss about camping buddies? Are you going to provide anything or are are you wanting to freeload?

We would like to do a wilderness trip, so far we have just mainly camped at a state park, hit it on an off weekend and it isn't busy. Once, we camped randomly in the woods near my friend's Mom's house, which was cool.

camping is really cheap, and you have more freedom.. as long as both agree on the food, drink, and music. then go for it blindly feet first into cold water, ask no other futher questions and see were it takes you.. if it doesn't work out, then leave the next day. if your having fun then stay for a couple more days and bring insect repellent & Citronella Candles for romance.

You & the OP put yourselves down as poster children for America's most common epidemic: obesity. As a result, you are obviously uglier that you would be otherwise, both physically & mentally. In fact, you're so incredibly ugly that early-onset dementia is probable, & you do not even believe ugly when you see it. See what you have to look forward to OP? Instead of trying to fit into a tent, why not turn yourself into less than 2 or more people

Hate to burst your bubble bucco but I am far from Obesity; a few extra lbs perhaps but even that comes from my doc and not from your incorrect observation of my pic. As for what I believe about ugly, not sure where you are getting that unless of course fat and ugly mean the same thing to you. Cause don't see anywhere I mentioned anything about ugly. And as for dementia, hmm...my boss doesn't seem to think so where I have been employed for years and yes do work full time. Wonder if you can say the same? Again, trying to make yourself look good by downing others.

Dementia is a shrinkage of the brain leading to reduce cognitive ability, i.e.: you're not uglier than sin, or your belly fat is not a serious disability

Dementia is obviously the shit coming out of your mouth, fattie. Probably 40% of the American workforce is more or less demented. It is a gradual & pernicious disease, you get a little dumber each day & you are in denial about it

I just love how people have nothing better to do with their lives than to talk down to and demean others. Obviously their parents did a puss poor job at raising them. Why go to a thread and bash people on their looks or anything else for that matter? How has the world we live in came to all of that. Just because there are all the people on here looking to just have sex or whatever, doesn't mean we all are. You should not judge people by how they look, but by who they are inside. But I guess I was raised better than most people on here. And that is a true shame.

I just can't understand how everyone on here judges it doesn't matter what your on here looking for there will be one person to tear you down about it or your looks or profile, etc. Just go to the next profile if you don't like what you see there's thousands on here.

One other thing I'd plead if people really read these things. I'm sure it gets all of your a female and just have guys throwing themselves at you but.... Try not to flip out if a guy asks about sex right off the bat he's just trying to save everyone time. The guys you should go nuts on is the guy that poses to want a relationship and then never talks to you after you finally have sex. Food for thought....

if a guy asks for sex right off the bat, then he is a creep. i have never asked for sex, if you are smart then you make a move at the right time.. no problem if you want to just have a fling, though best chance for a relationship is to be freinds first.

sorry to hear about your bad experience.. i guess if you decide to meet at a bar then it is be better cause you don't have to wake up next to them. i usually make sure to leave cab fair on the dresser (that is common knowledge) women if you see a couple 20's sitting out then know it's OK to grab a cup of coffee that was set to brew at 5a.m. on your way out. thanks

Your ex couldn't take "friends" from you if they were really your friends to begin with. If all of them chose him over you and you're advertising that fact? Looking for a man to go camping with is like saying you are looking for a man to go to a motel with for the weekend. Think about it...you are wanting to go somewhere secluded with a total stranger off the internet. I sure hope your ex has custody of your kids. You don't have enough common sense to raise children in a safe environment.

I think 'inventtis2' was referring to those Motor Home Parks with nice mowed grass a variety of various types of Mobil-Homes to live in. Evenings spent with 20 TV's and radios playing at night. Surprise: a dog crapped in your lil camp "SPACE" last night...

* Lake and Stream, Woodland Camping *

Fresh caught Fish for dinner over a warm campfire... Relax... ( burn some rope )
Then steep back away from the camp fire and see the full bright Milky Way ! - WOW !! -
Just then, a near by Coyote or two start Howwwllllling in the night...

It's so haunting and wild !

No, town or street lights reflecting in the sky for 50 - 100 + miles )

NOW ! If you have one or two horses... for the wagon... camp like this. Quiet - MAGIC !

Camping! I like roughing it in a cabin, electricity preferred! Don't have to have indoor plumbing, but I need a good 5 gallon for night time. I'll use the pump for water, sure and haul it in myself. Gotta have a bed and it has to have blankets. Where we "roughed" it at night it got down to 40 at night and that's cold if the cabin has no heat.
