Villanova beat Delaware by 25 points and plays Penn next. Then the conference games begin with the Big East teams. Xavier is first on New Years Eve! I think there are three Big East teams in the AP Top Ten as of last week. Rolly Massameno was at the game today and gave an interview (he was the VU coach that won the 1985 National Championship as an 8th seed team). His wife cooks for the championship team once a year. He is still a College Basketball coach and is in his 80's.
Villanova update:
Villanova is now 11-2, Ranked 16th (AP) as of 12/28/15
Beat U of Penn (unranked Ivy League team) 77-57 on 12/28
Beat #6 (AP) ranked and UNDEFEATED Xavier 95-64 on 12/31 (this morning)
WOW....beating the AP #6 by 31 points!!!!!
  
This should raise Villanova to an AP ranking of in or near the top 10?
Can't wait to see the new AP rankings next week!!!!
Will Nova be above Kentucky in the AP rankings next week? Both have 2 losses.

That is great news! Villanova beat Creighton this weekend. I'm starting to like the NCAA RPI rankings better than the AP rankings!!
Xavier was ranked #1 and I think Xavier has a great team this year. Villanova beat them by 31 points recently, and that game showed the power of the three point shot, when your players are hitting them all. When Villanova got beat badly by Oklahoma, Villanova was not making their three point shots and Oklahoma was.

OSU got spanked by Indiana today..85-60..and got their buckeyes crushed too!!!  I wish they would play Villanova during the regular season, maybe early in the season to as a warm up to some real basketball in the Big East. LOL. All kidding aside, the Big East and the Big 10 are the two basketball conferences to watch this year.

Looks like another long year for both DePaul and St. Johns.
I like it when Villanova plays St. John's in an away game, and I bet the players do too. Playing in Madison Square Garden to me is one of the premier venues for sports (and concerts). In Philadelphia it used to be the Palestra for college basketball.
Does anyone know where it is now? I moved to California many moons ago.

A newscaster said it was more likely to be hit by a meteor than winning the powerball.
Villanova won against Marquette, who put up a good fight. I watched the game with my daughter as we ate a Philly Cheesesteak at a local place in Oceanside, CA.

I did not think that Georgetown would whip them that soundly.
Georgetown is always a dangerous team to play. The reason is they have great coaching. George Thompson III and his father are a legacy at Georgetown. Georgetown plays Villanova on Saturday, and even though Villanova has a better win loss record, VU's Coach Wright is not taking them lightly. Last year Villanova entered the NCAA tournament as a #1 seed and Georgetown was one of their very few losses of the season. Saturday's game may be exciting due to the rivalry between the teams since Villanova "stole" the National Championship from Georgetown in 1985. Georgetown has the home court advantage and great fans  that intimidate opponents .

Villanova looks great but I think the guys from Georgetown will be hungrier. Good luck to both teams.
When Georgetown and Villanova meet for basketball, both team usually play their best. Last year Villanova traveled in a bus in some bad winter weather and the bus broke down. They got to DC for the game (just in time) and were not able to warm up and a bit disheveled. That was a large part of why they lost. This year I think Georgetown may not be a spoiler for VU, but anybody can win on any day, and the home team does have an advantage (like no long bus rides in the winter weather).
These days there are a lot of young men with older women. The last three women I met were my age and were widowed twice from men who died younger than my age. Scarey. One gal was nicknamed the black widow by her coworkers which was a little scarey for me. LOL.

I will be watching them Saturday when they travel to Vandy....
Wow Frank Haith leaves another program in shambles... Mizzou bans itself from this seasons postseason and will vacate all wins from the 2013-14 season... Would have been tuff for Mizzou to make the NCAA but now they can not even play in the SEC Tourny.. Haith also left Miami after getting them in trouble..........If I were Tulsa I would fire him right now

After knocking off Kansas interested to see if West Virginia can do the same vs Oklahoma today.........

Villanova squeaked by Georgetown in a hard fought game today. Coach Wright said it well after the game...that Villanova has a lot of respect for Georgetown and its basketball program. Villanova plays Georgetown again in its final season game this year.

College Basketball rumor....Jay Wright is being recruited by UNLV. This is from a friend of mine that was born and raised in Las Vegas, attended UNLV, and is a big Rebel fan. This is not very far fetched since Jay Wright was an assistant Coach at UNLV under Coach Massimino until he got a Head Coach job at Hofstra. Jay Wright coached at Villanova as an assistant coach under Massimo left to go to UNLV with him, then Hofstra and later back to VU. Nova has a new and young athletic director who came from USC who is now Jay Wright's boss. It will be interesting to see if there is truth to this rumor. UNLV is 11-7 right now so that is good for most schools, but UNLV wants a National Champion team again so it may not be good enough for them.

College Basketball rumor....Jay Wright is being recruited by UNLV.
Imo Dave that would be a hugh mistake if true........... Nova is now able to compete and win in the the Big East because of the exodus by Syracuse, L'Ville, UCONN, Pitt, W Vir, and UC.... As for comparing the 2 conferences Big East is way better than the the Mountain West... Besides SD State it is a pretty weak conference...
Will Duke fall again tonight....
Oh what the heck is going on at Clemson..... They have won 5 in a row including 3 straight wins over ranked teams in L'ville, Duke, and Miami.... They still have not figured out how to win in Chapel Hill tho
