Dave, you should jump in a play in Tommys NCAA thread.
So far we have 2 for Kentucky and 1 N. Carolina winner.
You know I pick Villanova, being a totally unbiased alumni     . Yesterday I noticed at a car rental office in California, all the recent college grads working there had their college teams displayed on baseball hats in the corner of the office. I asked them who they picked in their brackets? Villanova was the most often, followed by Kentucky. Kentucky is not a #1 seed this year, so it will be interesting to see how they do this year.
It will be interesting to see how Villanova plays Mt St Mary's in the first game. Mt St. Mary's is 28-4 versus Villanova's 31-3. That's not a significant win loss record and both the teams are similar in that they are small private colleges with great basketball programs. There will be a lot of praying for both teams, so praying should cancel out in being an edge.....LOL. Two years ago Villanova got knocked out in their first round, so March madness could start early. It could be a great battle, and shows you how great the teams in the tournament are with a top and bottom seed first game with similar records. All the scouts in the tournament will want to see this game.

I wouldn't waste my time on anything, the includes ball game's of any type of the participants and fans didn't have the balls to show up for the games to represent their choice and support their schools/teams. jmho
It's all just a lot of hot air and jock itch if one doesn't have the support for the ballplayers.

Happy Saint Patty's Day!!!
Well, every once in a while I make a mistake. Villanova played Mount Saint Mary's, who was ranked #150 in the RPI and had a 19-15 record. Villanova's 20 point win yesterday's first round was not really a blow out based on Mount Saint Mary's record in the North East Conference. Mount Saint Mary's did however get to play the #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will probably tell stories of the game to their grandchildren. Congrats on making it to the tournament and a winning season.
Hellllllo Wisconsin!!!! Time for a Big 10 matchup for Villanova with an 8th seed and ranked team.

Congrats on your team beating the #1 seed and good luck in the rest of the tournament.
It was a close game and exciting for the fans. I am sad to see my team not at least make it to the final 4. Villanova will be back in contention next year. The rest of the tournament should be exciting.

On y main bracket, I got Wisconsin over villanova right and was actually doing good and then it fell to crap because I had notre dame, Virginia, florida state, and Louisville winning.

The two you want to see are right here in Memphis. Notice we're the only region who has the top 4 all still in tact. Should I go to the games? I bet tickets will be expensive. A few years ago, I went to the game that sent a team to the final four because around half time, people were getting rid of their tickets. lol.
Plus I do think I should track down Calipari and beg him to come back here.
Also, Pence is going to be here. I guess to watch Butler?

Sorry to hear that. I have a lot of respect for Georgetown's Basketball program over the years and the coaching by the Thompsons. Georgetown was at the bottom of the Big East this year, and the University expects to be at least a contender at the NCAA Tournament.

FYI.....
North Carolina virtually tied Villanova in the National Championship last year and is a true dynasty in College Basketball. I am pretty sure they will win their final 4 game, but this is March Madness and anyone can win. Gonzaga had done one thing better than any other team this year and that is to WIN. The team that wins the National Championship is the team that wins all the Tournament games. BUT, Gonzaga is known for choking in the NCAA Tournament, but are getting closer to winning the tournament the last two years. Gonzaga is past due to win the National Championship and this year is the year they they have the team to make it happen. Oregon has a good shot at the title, but the Gamec*cks (who made that mascot name?)made it to the Final 4, so I don't count them out.
The best way to predict the future to project the past....

I second the congrats to North Carolina for their 6th National Championship and redemption from letting last year's National Championship slip away in the last 4.3 second of a tied Championship game with Villanova. This year they closed the Championship game with a string of baskets (8 point run) at the very end of the game. Even though I am a bigger Nova fan than a Tar Heal fan, last years National Championship game was a virtual tie, like this year's Game with Gonzaga, but someone had to be declared a winner and in both Championships it was decided by the game clock.

North Carolina improved to 2-1 all-time against Gonzaga.
Coaching his 100th NCAA Tournament contest, Roy Williams became the sixth coach to win three national titles.
North Carolina’s 123 NCAA Tournament wins are one shy of Kentucky for most all-time.
WCC Player of the Year Nigel Williams-Goss scored Gonzaga’s final eight points and finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Tar Heels forwards Justin Jackson and Kennedy Meeks, who entered averaging a combined 33.5 points per game during the tournament, totaled 23 points on 9-for-24 shooting.
