Because some women look at men with material gain and non emotional anything in mind.Take for instance a situation I seen at work the other day. Coworker waits on a man showing interest because he has a Harley  How do I know this....because she told me so.
Another woman wasn't interested in a guy because he had a beat up car,didn't matter if he worked or not?? The whole mess is pretty sad considering both women were upper 40's and early 50's with nothing to offer themselves. Wish this was not true!...saw it with my own eyes and heard it too. No wonder men act and think like they do!

Not necessarily. They may not want sex at all. The only thing you can know for sure, is that he doesn't want a relationship with you.
This applies to people in general, not just men.
Sex does not require a "relationship" for many people. Date people who have views on sex that are compatible to yours and stop lumping men into one basket.

I could understand the "man being hurt" concept if a man acts like someone who has been hurt and isn't so quick to push things in a sexual direction... that is if he actually takes the time to get to know you as a person and... he dates you before attempting a relationship. I consider sex to be a part of a relationship and they go hand in hand. I don't see it as being separate from a relationship.
However, I think the NSA relationship and pushing for sex right away before dating and getting to know each other is merely a form of "hurt you before you hurt me" behavior. NSA's are usually more hurtful from the woman's perspective that is why many women won't do them.
Plus, some of the women who engage in NSA behavior think that they can change a man's mind about a relationship after sex, but they aren't aware of the undercurrent disrespect and desperateness for settling for a non-relationship.
Plus, no strings can be just as drama filled and complicated as a normal relationship.
A true NSA relationship is sort of rare.
Most women are not that detached from their feelings.

Said man only care to get his dock wet and is an abusive, lying, cheating player. This is also the guy that women just love to fall in love with, because they think they can change him into a loyal, respectable partner.
Or, his IQ is above 30, and he realizes your rib-stealing gender should just be chained to a stove, with just enough slack to reach the bedroom, because that is the only two places you are actually worth a damn.

I also sense that NSA are from both, female and male prespective, coming from a place of fakeness and lack of honesty...
A man who is "scared to be hurt" should avoid sex involvement until he knows the girl. In fact sex complicates things and get the two partners emitionally more involved...much, much more than when sex isn't there yet...
...a man who say "I am scared to be hurt" but still wants sex is Lying: he is using it as an excuse in order to have easy sex without having to put up with the responsibilities of a relationship.
Same for the girl. She accepts a degrading situation because she has intention to play "something behind the back" and turn around things...
A guy who says to a girl that he wants sex only is not afraid of being hurt, he doesn't want a relationship. And a girl who accepts the arrangment only for the sex doesn't want a relationship either.
But yes this genuine situation is really rare.
