I think it is because in our culture, part of being a female has to do with long hair since we are kids. Our parents teach us our roles in the society...how to dress...in pink(ugh)
Learn house chores, cook, etc.
To b honest I always did whatever I wanted. My mom didn't force to dress in those ridiculous big pink dresses and stuff.

I've known a lot of men who prefer short (or shoulder length) hair. I think short hair is sophisticated on women.
My peeve has always been men with hair longer than mine. But, since meeting someone new, with long hair, I've adapted to it and it's not so bad since mine is catching up. Haha
Bottom line, the right person will compliment you head to toe, no matter hair length or any other insecurities.

My last girlfriend was lovely and had very long straight flowing hair. Like almost to her waist. It complimented her very nicely I thought. My girlfriend before her had rather short cropped hair that her daughter, a cosmetology student, would practice on. Also a very lovely woman.
I generally prefer something in the middle lengthwise. Not so much trouble to care for but plenty enough to run my fingers through its silkiness. But it's the woman beneath the hair that will capture my attention. And my affection.

Number on reason my hair is real and 3 inches pass my shoulders. I hope to one day get it back down to 5 inches pass my shoulders like I had in high school.

I like how if I don't feel like fussing with my hair, I can just throw it up in a bun and go. I always have my hair up at work, so its out of my way and doesn't get hot.
But when ever I want to look nice, I let it down, and throw a few curls on the end.
Most people are so shocked to see my hair down, cause they didn't know I had it, or even that it was possible for a black woman to grow her hair long

That's not it.
If you view a woman with her hair up or short hair....she looks okay.
but let it down and she just looks better.
Its the drastic difference in how you looked that drew those looks.
If women had to wear short hair and make up was outlawed.....women would all fall several rungs down the ladder in looks.
Perhaps enough so...it would turn the dating world upside down and men would be the ones persued, emailed initially and women would be paying for that first date dinner.

a lot of young women did the same thing back in the days of Hubby supporting the whole family(1960's and backwards)....because they knew the only way he could move on from them was thru divorce court, where no matter who was at fault, he would have to pay out more in alimony and child support than he made....rendering him stuck with her, no matter what.
There are younger fat women who have short hair too....perhaps from knowing sex will still land the turkey.
Many of the older ones do it, because long hair won't help the cause and its easier to take care of, and likely with a hubby that will be there to the end....no matter what.

Once women hit menopause,they become sexually irrelevant. Their estrogen levels drop,their vaginas dry out and they start growing facial and body hair. They basically become dudes. The chopping off of the hair is merely a social indicator.

Actually it doesn't effect them all that way.
Some don't change only too much. Some get more sexual because they don't have to worry about getting pregnant anymore, many lose the hair around the p*ssy...a good thing.
None of the older women I got with had any wetness problem.
The first woman I was with after my divorce at 50....she was near my age, had been thru the change, and a Hysterectomy and never took hormones and was a sexual dynamo in bed.....but her brain chems for romance and sex must have been strong to make this be.
But...there are enough of them that do lose the drive for sex and romance, and that's why you won't see them on any dating sites.
The reason we see more older women with longer hair these days might be because of the emphasis on looking good thru the years, which makes companies for such things rich....plus the divorce is more accepted these days and enough of them are single again.

Synthetic estrogen is one of the top prescriptions written. Synthetic testosterone is gaining. You don't know how many of these women you are with are on meds.

Archer...the medical and scientific world verifies that women go thru a change in life that does effect the hormones, and that can lead to several things.
However, it effects them all different in the amount of change that happens....which can vary from not too much at all......to a lot and everything in between.
and then you have to throw in these factors:
1) how was her drive and etc. from a natural standpoint that everyone is different in the amount of drive they naturally had before this happened?....being all are different.
If it was extremely high normally, it might settle down to what's considered normal....and the reverse can be true too...and everything in between.
2) Her brain chems that provide the drive too.....were/are they naturally high or low?
3) did she produce the normal amount of hormones? or higher or lower than normal?
All these things come in to play to determine how much gets effected by the changes.
Also...with some women they do lose the drive for sex and romance with the changes....but a few years later, it comes back.
Lastly if needed, they can take hormone replacement...just as men can take testosterone to make up for what the body no longer produces in the same way that it did before.

Individual cases do matter...that's what gives varied evidences.
I did a lot of research on this, not only reading, but asking a lot of people "men and women" who went thru this...or their wife did"...because my ex. lost all her drive...because of three factors
at first with what I found...I did think it effected all women like this.
However that changed by being back in the dating world and having great and hot sex with women my age or near it....and all went thru the change already and some having hysterectomies too.
So...I re opened my research to discover the variances to which ...why some aren't effected in this way.
and no... most were not taking hormone replacement.
Perhaps mentally you are already old and set in your ways....waiting for the fat to kick in, so you can give up.
but...you can always go back to circle jerking with the old College buddies again....lol
