The U.S. embassy in New Delhi last month rejected Tanveer Hussain’s application for a visa so he could compete in the World Snowshoe Championship in upstate. Local officials then intervened on Hussain’s behalf, appealing for help to the offices of Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. Their offices reached out to the New Delhi embassy, which allowed Hussain to reapply for a visa and granted that visa. “Obviously, this is a troubling matter for him — these are troubling accusations,” Brian Barrett, Hussain’s lawyer, told Fox News over the phone. “He is in good spirits and he looks forward to fighting these charges.” Saranac Lake Police Chief Charles Potthast told Fox News that the charges, one of first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and another of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, stem from Hussain “engaging in a passionate kiss” with a 12-year-old girl, and accusations of the athlete touching her over her clothing in an “intimate area.” Barrett, who has entered a not guilty plea for his client, said the girl “had been following him around all week. The village’s police chief said that coming into contact with the athletes at the championship would not be difficult, as spectators moved from different venues to watch the games, so the word “following” did not apply. He did confirm, however, that the underage girl and Hussain had been in contact via text message. Hussain, who was being held Friday on a $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond, has a preliminary hearing Tuesday at St. Armand Town Court in St. Armand, New York. Schumer’s office told Fox News he often intervenes to facilitate international competition. “As we often do when local communities ask for help, at the request of Saranac Lake we helped to navigate the visa process so these athletes could compete at a local competition. The charges against one member of the group, who is accused of a serious crime and abusing our visa program, are extremely troubling. If he’s found guilty, he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.” Gillibrand’s office had a similar response, adding that the charges are “extremely serious.” Barrett told Fox News that he is under the impression that Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., was involved in helping speed the process as well. “Our office simply inquired with the embassy as to why his visa was originally denied,” a spokesman for Stefanik told Fox News. “We were told it was because he could not prove substantial ties to his country and we took no further action,” the Stefanik spokesman said. Hussain, 24, was arrested and charged with felony sexual abuse and child welfare endangerment, police said. The parents of the 12-year-old girl allegedly involved said the incident happened Monday, after the end of the three-day snowshoe competition, and reported it to local authorities. Potthast Jr. of the Saranac Lake Village police force said the girl was playing pool Monday afternoon with other young people at the inn where Hussain was staying. “There was a moment when the two were alone, and that’s when the incident occurred,” Potthast said. The girl told police there was a “passionate kiss” and that Hussain touched her in an intimate area on top of her clothing. Hussain remains jailed on $10,000 bond. Khan said the athlete told him he had done nothing wrong. Muddasir Mir, the president of the SnowShoe Federation of India, said the next court hearing is set for Monday. “It’s an unfortunate situation, both for the community there in the U.S. who supported us and the federation,” Mir said. “We have full faith in the American law and as there is a court proceeding going on, that is going to be my only comment.” Hussain hails from the Indian side of the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir, which is predominantly Muslim. He placed in the top 50 at the World Snowshoe Championships last year in Italy, Mir said, though he failed to place in the top 100 this year. Hussain’s brother, Yunus Ali, said the family has not been able to speak to Hussain since his arrest. “In Kashmir, we have a tradition of showing love to children. We hug and kiss a child here, and our society doesn’t see it as a crime,” he said. Hussain and Khan claimed they were indirect victims of the U.S. travel ban when their first attempt to procure visas was turned down in late January, the first business day after Trump’s travel ban was put in place. Khan told the BBC that an employee at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi told them they were being rejected because of “ current policy.” U.S. officials said at the time that the denials were not connected to the travel ban. The embassy in New Delhi had no comment. Saranac Lake Mayor Clyde Rabideau, a key supporter of the men, said in a statement that the community was “understandably shocked” by the allegations against Hussain. Mir had said that the visa would not have been issued without the “personal efforts” of Schumer and New York’s other Democratic senator, Kirsten Gillibrand. On Feb. 25, Schumer celebrated Hussain’s “rock star” welcome in a Facebook post, saying that the United States is “Still a country that welcome athletes from across the globe to compete in our stadiums, our snow-covered fields and everywhere in between.” A spokesman for Schumer said the senator had helped with the visa process at the request of Saranac Lake and described the charges against Hussain as “extremely troubling.” Gillibrand did not respond to a request for comment. Pollak 3 Mar 2017 Attorney General Jeff Sessions found himself at the center of controversy this week because he answered a question about the Trump campaign’s contacts with the Russian government without talking about his contacts as a United States Senator. The assumption made by the media, the Democrats, and even some Republicans was that even routine contact with the Russian government is burdened by suspicion of collusion. Not since the McCarthy era have suspicions reached such levels. But if Sessions ought to resign, perhaps the entire Senate should quit. Because on Monday — two days before the Washington Post broke the highly scandalous story that Sessions had met the Russian ambassador twice in the course of his duties — every single United States Senator had formal contact with the Russian government. And not just any functionary: they had contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin himself. Worse (apparently) still, they initiated the contact with the Russians. The contact was a letter, signed by the entire Senate, urging Putin to release a valuable library of Jewish religious texts that was seized by earlier Russian regimes and which has been the subject of a legal and diplomatic dispute in recent decades. Amid the hypocritical Democrat calls for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign over his two meetings with the Russian ambassador to the United States last year, a conservative columnist is setting the record straight with a report that should embarrass everyone on the left side of the aisle. Far from being some “secret” affair on behalf of then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Sessions‘ first meeting with the Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was organized by the Obama administration. Heritage Foundation scholar, attorney and respected legal pundit Hans von Spakovsky wrote at the Fox News website Thursday that the first meeting took place at a conference on “Global Partners in Democracy” at the Republican National Convention in July in Cleveland. “The conference was an educational program for ambassadors invited by the Obama State Department to observe the convention. The Obama State Department handled all of the coordination with ambassadors and their staff, of which there were about 100 at the conference,” von Spakovsky wrote. “Apparently, after Sessions finished speaking,” he continued, “a small group of ambassadors — including the Russian ambassador — approached the senator as he left the stage and thanked him for his remarks. That’s the first ‘meeting.’ And it’s hardly an occasion — much less a venue — in which a conspiracy to ‘interfere’ with the November election could be hatched.” In other news, folks, Sessions’ “scandal” just isn’t. Even so, doesn’t it seem sort of setup-ish? All right, no one can predict the future. But one could conjecture, fairly easily, that former president Barack Obama’s administration left some political land mines behind in the off-chance that then-candidate Donald Trump won the presidency and Democrats needed political ammunition to use against the new Trump administration. It gives a report of what purportedly happened: A rowdy crowd gathered at the Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park. Supporters and detractors of President Donald Trump, including members of the national group By Any Means Necessary, were joined by a large number of police officers, clad in riot gear. At first, people toted signs, chanted slogans and got into heated debates. Before long, Trump supporters were fighting counter-protesters and getting in their faces to show support for the president. This is bad news for Barack Obama—who is rumored to have orchestrated this entire scandal. This week, Breitbart reported that Judicial Watch is planning to sue these intelligence agencies if they refuse to hand over the records pertaining to the wire tapping. In fact, lawsuits will be filed next week if they do not have the records. The group’s goal is to discover whether there was ever a warrant allowing the U.S. government to wiretap Flynn’s phone calls. If there was, the next questions are who and why. “If you have a warrant, attached to the warrant 99 percent of the time, there is an affidavit—a sworn declaration normally by a law enforcement officer or senior official,” Chris Farrell, the group’s Director of Investigations and Research told reporters. The December leaks ultimately led to Flynn’s resignation on Monday, because they contradicted public assertions made by Vice President Michael Pence that Flynn had never discussed sanctions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. According to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, this kind of wiretapping would only be legal warrant or if they happened to be investigating a foreign official. “It’s pretty clear that’s not the case,” Nunes commented on the matter. “I’m pretty sure the FBI didn’t have a warrant on Michael Flynn…To listen to an American’s phone call you would have to go to a court there’d be all that paperwork there. So I’m guessing that doesn’t exist.” Farrell agrees with this assessment, believing that “embedded political operatives within the various agencies and departments” are likely responsible for the leaked conversation. And we’re bound to see more foul play, he argues. “It’s an incremental attack,” Farrell concluded. “They will try to pick off one by one people close to the president. A Thursday report citing that Vice President Mike Pence used a personal email account while he was governor of Indiana has Democrats and the media racing to label Pence as a hypocrite for criticizing Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign over her use of an unsecured private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. Paul Begala, a long-serving Clinton advisor, claimed to be “sickened” by the “staggering” hypocrisy, while reporters questioned whether Pence had gained any “sympathy” for Clinton’s handling of her emails. Pence asserted that there is “no comparison whatsoever” between his actions and Clinton’s. According to Pence’s office, the comparison is “absurd” since it was legal for him to use the account, which was a commercial AOL account versus a private server, and he was not sending or receiving classified information. The Daily Caller points out that Clinton’s email transgressions would be more suitably compared to those of new DNC Chairman Tom Perez. Beginning in 2009 Perez used his personal email account to conduct DOJ business 1,200 times, according to congressional investigators. In a le tter to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the DOJ admitted that Perez had violated the Federal Records Act a minimum of 34 times. The investigation found that Perez “likely violated both the spirit and letter of the Federal Records Act.” A subpoena was issued for the 1,200 emails by Republican representative Darrell Issa of California, who was the chairman of the committee during the investigation. Perez ignored the subpoena. The investigation was initiated as a result of a deal that Perez negotiated at the DOJ with the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, in which he used his personal email account to communicate with lawyers for St. Paul. Investigators obtained one of those emails and subsequently issued the subpoena. Perez claimed to have no recollection of using his personal email while facilitating the deal. “It appears that your use of your personal, non-official email account to conduct official department business has been frequent and routine,” Issa wrote to Perez. Despite Perez’s choice to ignore the subpoena from Congress, Perez was confirmed as Labor Secretary in 2013. Perez had been expected to follow Eric Holder as attorney general, but the subpoena was cited as a reason that he was not nominated for the post.

It’s the operating budget of a midsize country, or in America’s case, enough to fund North Carolina and Maine for an entire year. Nearly a quarter of that money is sent to family members in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. Those three countries collected $11.8 billion, adding 10 percent to each nation’s gross domestic product. Approximately 126,000 illegal immigrants emigrated from these three nations to the U.S. since last October and federal officials estimate at least 95,500 more will enter next year. The Central American governments have encouraged the high levels of emigration because it is earning their economy billions of dollars!
