If they are interested in dating you, it doesn't make sense that they are hiding. They have to agree to verify that they are real, by letting you hear their voice live, skype, or yahoo messenger, then meet you in person. If they keep making up excuses then cut them off immediately. It doesn't seem right. There have been cases where the girl is real, she agrees to meet him in person, then her two male friends wait there in the area to jump the unsuspecting guy. They rob him for his wallet & jewelry. Sometimes they even stab the guy or kill the guy. You have to be very careful out there. So what can you do about it? Meet the girl in a public area where you will be safe. Size up the girl/woman to make sure if she is a good person or not. They use the girl as a bait to get the guy they are going to rob. Size up = make an assessment, a decision if she is a good person or not.

Thank you Sarah... yeah I thought it should be reasonably early... but I was doubting what IS reasonable? after speaking with him and really enjoying his persona .. I had asked for a pic... after about a month. Nothing.. after three months I again asked for a pic, several times, I was patient.. "I thought" but was told I was impatient...... but alas I was disappointed again, and after 4 months I gave up... I don't know what the big deal is by showing someone your pic if you are getting personal. I didn't know what to think.. I was very disappointed!
