It's an oddly short allegory that means that figuring out how to be happy with the one you're with after umpteen years of marriage is cheaper than the alimony and child support associated with leaving.

Given how much superior poon that I've had since my divorce though; I'd argue that it's worth it.

Really? Divorce is expensive! Lawyers, child support, alimony..It's cheaper to stay married even if unhappy.

It means that you are better off financially to stay married rather than get taken to the poor house with a divorce. Divorce lawyer, alimony, child support, maintenance, etc, will make you broke for a long time.

It means MEN are better off being MISERABLE in a marriage, than to suffer the financial devastation of divorce.

I have found only one male, that has actually seen divorce as better than staying married.

I told him, about 10 years ago, that we needed a "Cash for Clunkers" program, for women.

That way, when they break down, we could just haul them off to the dealerships and trade them in.

His response was this: "First off, there isn't a woman on the planet worth $5,000 trade-in value, and second, if you think a car payment is bad, try marriage. At least after 5 years, the car is paid off and you still have something to ride in."

It is cheaper to stay with her, than to leave and then pay for everything that you are already paying for plus then some...but...it is not always the man that ends up paying....in the end it all comes down to who has the most to lose..

So in some cases it would be cheaper to keep him..

My cousin feels this way about his current wife. They have 3 children and they own a few properties together. So, he would never divorce her.

However, if she wanted to divorce him, he's already got his next girlfriend lined up.

My cousin is a man with a plan.

Unfortunately, there are a few married/separated guys out there wanting to find stupid, single ladies who own their own home... so they can spend Monday - Thursday with her and then go home to mow the lawn and say hi to the kids on the weekend.

A Common Pleas courtroom judge has the authority to overturn prenuptial agreements, which means they are nothing but a piece of paper.

In many states(with exception to "No-Fault Slut" states, such as Caliwhoria), the judge decides the final division of marital assets, despite prenuptial agreements.

The problem with that is...what if they want to have children at some point?????

Isn't that like asking younger women to get a full hysterectomy just so they can't get pregnant while having sex?

I think so.

Its "both" genders responsibility....but her, more so perhaps for her sake, because its her that ends up pregnant with a child not planned for...if the case.

and I don't mean its more her responsibility, its both equally.

but her more so part...because she is the one who will end up carrying a baby and likely raising it.

After one year, they can't be reversed. The tubes are clipped and cauterized, just like the tube tying they do to women.
