Climate Myth:
It's the sun
"Over the past few hundred years, there has been a steady increase in the numbers of sunspots, at the time when the Earth has been getting warmer. The data suggests solar activity is influencing the global climate causing the world to get warmer."

Climate Fact:
Over the last 35 years the sun has shown a cooling trend. However global temperatures continue to increase. If the sun's energy is decreasing while the Earth is warming, then the sun can't be the main control of the temperature.

Quote from beanhammer:

If our increased carbon footprint is causing warming?

Climate myth:
It's cooling
"In fact global warming has stopped and a cooling is beginning. No climate model has predicted a cooling of the Earth – quite the contrary. And this means that the projections of future climate are unreliable.

Climate fact:

When looking for evidence of global warming, there are many different indicators that we should look for. Whilst it's natural to start with air temperatures, a more thorough examination should be as inclusive as possible; snow cover, ice melt, air temperatures over land and sea, even the sea temperatures themselves. The key indicators of global warming shown below are all moving in the direction expected of a warming globe.

Indicators of a warming world based on surface, satellite, and ocean temperature measurements, satellite measurements of energy imbalance (the difference between incoming and outgoing energy at the top of the atmosphere), and of receding glaciers, sea ice, and ice sheets, rising sea level, and shifting seasons.

The question of global warming stopping is often raised in the light of a recent weather event - a big snowfall or drought breaking rain. Global warming is entirely compatible with these events; after all they are just weather. For climate change, it is the long term trends that are important; measured over decades or more, and those long term trends show that the globe is still, unfortunately, warming.

Climate experts and biologists led by Jan van Dam at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, overlaid a picture of species emergence and extinction with changes that occur in Earth's orbit and axis. The Earth's orbit is not a perfect circle: it is slightly elliptical, and the ellipticality itself goes through cycles of change that span roughly 100,000 and 400,000 years. Its axis, likewise, is not perfectly perpendicular but has a slight wobble, rather like a poorly-balanced child's top, which goes through cycles of 21,000 years. In addition, the axis, as schoolbooks tell us, is also tilted, and this tilt also varies in a cycle of 41,000 years. These three shifts in Earth's pattern of movement are relatively minor compared with those of other planets. But they can greatly influence the amount of radiation -- heat and light -- which Earth receives from the Sun. The effect can be amplified, causing global cooling, affecting precipitation patterns and even creating Ice Ages in higher latitudes, when two or all the cycles peak together.

The Sun is, however, the primary heating agent in this system. The principle of Occam indicates that the simplest answer is most likely correct. The amount of energy coming from the sun dwarfs the heat reservoir of the oceans. The sun is not restricted to heating the atmosphere only. The Sun’s energy directly heats (or cools) the oceans and the earth (land). Dr. Vezier of the U of Ottawa has written a paper that is consistent with this common sense. http://www.friendsofscience.org/documents/veizer2.pdf [Broken] The Sun has been at an 8000 year high. This most likely is the cause of the high ocean temperatures between 1998 and 2004. Anyone who doubts that the sun is the cause need only look at the graphs from the NPAL acoustic thermometry to see that it goes up and down with summer and winter. Capitalism is what destroyed our educational systems.
You're not going to be able to get the average
American to pay for a private school when the
public school is already the best in the world.

Capitalists needed to wreck it first.
It's the only way they could get people
to pay for basic education.

It's how privatization works.

People won't pay privately for what's available
publicly.

Wreck what's available publicly, then they'll pay
privately.

It's not the party of FDR and Harry Truman anymore. It's turned corporatist and neoliberal. The reason why Trump won was because voters could no longer see much difference between establishment dems and establishment repubs. Clinton deregulated Wall Street and pushed NAFTA, Obama pushed TPP and embraced corporatism, Hillary once called the TPP the gold standard. She was in bed with Wall Street in a big way just like Bill. She was completely bought and paid for. You are in denial if you thought she gave two shits about the working class.

Would you like me to repost the wikileaks speeches she gave to Wall Street bankers?

There's an old saying in sports. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. The the election of Tom Perez to the head of the DNC means they haven't changed a damned thing. They just got their collective asses handed to them and they are determined to keep the same old Wall Street loving corporatist cronies in charge.

Take a reality check Nole.
The Democratic party didn't give us Trump.
You did.
You and people like you.

A direct quote from Bernie:

"You can't get everything you want over night.
Don't believe me?
Ask the civil rights people.
We've been fighting that issue for over 60 years.
This is not the time for a protest vote. The stakes
are too high."

If you're naive enough to believe that the corporate
overlords and 1%ers were just going to roll over and
quit if Bernie got elected then you have a serious issue
dealing with reality.

The simple fact of the matter is that Bernie didn't get the
votes to get the nomination.

And ultimatly you're ignoring the most obvious and glaring question of all.

"Who benefits from creating a rift and divide in the Democratic party?"

Yeah.
I voted Bernie in the primaries but he didn't get the nomination.

The simple truth you refuse to recognize is that protest votes
is what got Trump elected.

Key states lost by a margin that represented the votes that went to Jill Stein.

Huffington Post estimated that if America were to vote between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, 39.2% would vote for Trump and 44.8% would vote for Clinton. If it were down to Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, 37.8% would vote for Trump and 48.8% would vote for Sanders. While the polls to show Clinton over Trump, it’s Sanders who has the most potential of beating him. For democrats to beat Trump, they need a candidate who is the polar opposite of him. Bernie Sanders has political views that are very different, while Clinton shares some key views with Trump, such as their agreement to keep God in the public sphere. In addition, Clinton has accepted donations from Trump, which most Democrats see as a “political nightmare.” For the most part, Democrats are not too happy with Clinton.

According to a CNN poll, 57% of voters say Clinton is untrustworthy, and 55% of voters have an unfavorable view of her. Moreover, Clinton has been through scandals. In 2009, her early secretary days, Clinton’s aides and officials pushed to allow Clinton to use her personal email account in her office, paying little attention to laws and regulations regarding the handling of classified information and the preservation of government records. It wasn’t until just recently that the FBI was informed of the email scandal and began investigating the Clinton foundation. Anderson Cooper asked Clinton the question everyone was thinking in a debate; “Will you say anything to get elected?” Based on her deceitfulness, some democrats would prefer Trump over Clinton. In the end, the public’s unfavorable view of Clinton as an untrustworthy candidate and the FBI investigating Clinton’s emails ruin the chances of Clinton defeating Trump in the election.

I'm just telling dems that if they don't want anymore Trumps then they have to purge their party of the corporatists and the neoliberals. They have to bring it back to being the party of the working class. The party of FDR and Truman. They do that and nobody like Trump gets in office. Establishment dems and establishment repubs were two sides of the same coin. What makes me sad is that Liz Warren screwed herself for a possible presidential run by not supporting Bernie when it counted and then went against many of her own beliefs by supporting a known corporatist Hillary. Had she stuck to her convictions she'd be sitting pretty for a presidential run in 2020.

It's just a shame that in all your Bernie zealotry you forgot
about a few basic facts.

You know, like how she's the one that got the conversation
started dealing with healthcare reform in an attempt
to release the strangle hold the insurance companies had
over healthcare.

Or the world wide speeches given regarding women's
rights and equal treatment.

Or how women's rights got incorporated into
a lot of the treaties she worked as Sec State.

Or how she spearheaded additional medial coverage
for children of low income families.

But no.
She's just a "corporatist" like all the rest.
Right?

I really hope you're not one of these idiots that decided
to vote trump because you couldn't have Bernie.

At least a protest vote for Stein would make sense because of common
core values.

Trump is the antithesis of everything Bernie stands for so anyone making
that move pretty much blows rational thinking out of the water.

Section 5 if you're looking for examples. If you're looking to actually learn something, read the rest.

Evolution is as scientifically verifiable as gravity.

that is just a grand word for new breed in a species.

most are truly just adaptations.

There is no evidence of a pig growing wings and learning to fly (cross breeding of DIFFERENTspecies), which after all, according to Darwinist's... we humans are fish.

Wrong. It is the word for a new species being created.

most are truly just adaptations.

You don't understand how this works at all.

There is no evidence of a pig growing wings and learning to fly (cross breeding), which after all, according to Darwinist's... we humans are fish.

I told you to read the rest to learn something. Obviously you'd rather stick your head in your a** and stick to your understanding of evolution based on what your colon says. There's no helping a willfully ignorant moron. Drink bleach and have a nice day.

Quote from cafe_express:
delusional twits who contort themselves into philosophical pretzels to avoid scientific truth:

Life isn’t fair. Rather than accept the truth of existence, you avoid reality then shame anyone who adheres and adapts to it. I have more examples of your realityphobia than you have genders, but for brevity will list just three.

Despite providing a sampling of your reality-bending ways, you’ll call me a litany of names, ironically attaching “phobia” to any number of accusations. As if alleging my fear of something makes your argument stronger. Sorry, no. Just because you say a thing doesn’t make it true. A theme which runs through this post like AIDs runs through the homosexual male community.

Your 2017 cause du jour carried over from previous years: mentally ill people controlling the behavior of everyone else. For their feelings sake. I’m writing of transgenderism, wherein someone who believes that which they’re not has their delusions endorsed by the firm hands of the bullying left, who bullies anyone who dares disagree with basic biology: males are males, females are females.

Such endorsements from that alternative crowd guarantees that vulnerables become more confused about their sexual self as well as go the wrong direction. Afterwards their wires get crossed and there is no return to the land of normal.. imo

Like I said, you refuse to read. I can't help you. That's why I suggest you wash your willful ignorance down with bleach. Scientists say drinking bleach is fatal, but what do they know.

I don't know it all. Scientists know a great deal and I listen to them because I'm not an ignorant moron.

You listen to scientists and put faith in what they tell you because you are not a moron.

look at what you said ^^^^^

That is what a cultist would say when asked to explain indepth their belief system.

The church said the same thing when it was discovered the Earth was round.

Go back to bed, or school, or do something that doesn't involve you being a mental retard. I've had it with people who will deny science.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Evolution is just a sound a theory as gravity. If you fear falling off a cliff because gravity will carry you to your death but don't believe things evolve, you are selectively choosing which science to believe based on your own bias. Shut the f**k up already and let people with brains handle thinking.

You are moving the goal post further and further back.

as I stated initially, I enjoy science and Neil.

I also understand the premises of science.

you are arguing a indoctrinated philosophy that has been embedded in the head since kindergarten and you learned at a young age that if you did not agree, you would be mocked.

This is not a creationism discussion yet me merely asking you for an example.

If you believe something to be true then surly you have evidence to share from personal experiences other than..

Because they told me so

Obviously not. If you did you would understand the the Theory of Evolution is just a sound a theory as any other scientific theory. Your refusal to acknowledge that and willingness to call evolution a faith based belief is proof that you absolutely do not understand the premises of science.

the premises of science is to have observable evidence that is tested over a period of time before any conclusions are made.

already stated this.

its not about my denial yet it is about your belief.

I dont have to prove anything.

Science has a premises that must be followed.

Now I ask.

Example of change of kind.

Not different breeds in a species.

Quote from pastmybedtime:Not different breeds in a species.

Already showed you different species. What you call a different breed, scientists call a different species. That's what it means when one group of organisms splits to the point where they can no longer reproduce with the species it evolved from. I shouldn't have to explains this since you say you understand sciemce, yet here I am. Like I said, I cannot help the willfully ignorant.

Those are examples of adaptation in the majority of the examples.

keep believing what they tell you.

perhaps one day they will find the missing link.

Actually, they've found lots of missing links.
Problem is, every time they do find a missing link,
creationists decide there are two more holes that
need to be filled.
(what about the link before that one, and after that one)

You really have no idea what is going on do you? Establishment dems vs establishment repubs is like pro wrestling. They talk tough about each other when the cameras are on and then have drinks together when the cameras are off. Two sides of the same coin. They use political correctness to give the illusion that they are different. Economically establishment dems and repubs are the same. They're both globalists and neoliberals.

Bernie and Trump were a little different and the parties that they ran on didn't like them. The party that produced the populist candidate would win.
