Mothers should be very content having children
who are good law abiding citizens.
Some mothers are just way too picky.
you are a damn good mother and you abide by your own rules. every woman should be able to abide by her own rule as well. if they cannot, there probably is a problem.
When kids leave the nest it's all about fingers crossed.
I crossed absolutely every thing

I have seen in tv shows this tendency to call women the male characters are dating "woman," usually in some sort of demeaning tone, though not always. Usually it is black people saying it, but not always.
But recently, I have heard it from one of my neighbors... to his mom. Every time I hear it, I have to supress the urge to punch the kid in his mouth.
I have never, EVER, heard anyone call their mom "woman" before in any medium. Is this actually a thing, or is this kid unusually disrespectful?
It's a cultural thing. It's common lingo in the North of England for example to call women "woman"
"Where's that cup of tea woman?"
"Don't talk daft woman"
"woman you'll do as you're f**king told or you'll see the back of my hand"
etc.

Bel, your kids have called you woman?
Sorry, it was there, I had too
When I was younger, I called my mom woman a lot. It was an inside joke... we had redneck neighbors and the guy always called his wife woman -- we thought it was funny.

Bee, my uncle breaks abused women down with the phoenix police department and with best psychs on hand.
They gotta know if they are not liking what is happening then they can change it.
But they gotta break to want to change.
Just what an abused woman needs...to be broken down...like that hasn't already happened...how about helping to build them back up instead....

I feel each woman must decide what is right for her in what she accepts from her children. Then if the child crosses that boundary she needs to speak up. If she is in position she cannot speak up then someone should for her.
this, I can agree with. But you didn't come with the approach of what the woman finds acceptable ... you just saud tou would not keep your mouth shut if you found it to be wrong.
I meant 2,000 years ago it was very disrespectful. Maybe not now. I don't know because I do not call my mother woman, nor am I one to keep my mouth shut when some bastard kids calls their mom things I find wrong ^^^ your second post in the thread, after first saying "it is meant to be disrespectful"

the first key to recovery is for them to break themselves down.
the police program with psychs and my uncle are helping these women discover the point to where enough is enough.
we do not get these women by volunteer.
we got them well after the mental abuse went physical and to the point children need to be removed.
this program is designed to get those babies back and kick a** from now on their own terms!!

"Hey man"
"What's up man"

Black dudes always call women "females"
(When not saying b*tches or hoes)
And the women call men "males"
Always thought that was weird and in human.

Black men also like to say "I'm a grown a** man" at lot, I suspect it's actually compensating on their feelings of inadequacies more than anything.

You are shopping in the store and hear some kid sounding like a jerk to his mother. You don't react right there but pay attention and get to a position of seeing her face and if she corrects him or accepts it.
It's when a mother lets her children call her stupid (because daddy calls momma stupid), that I think is a good moment to say something.

people have become overly sensitive about stupid stuff. I call my son all kinds of stuff including punk ass. lol he calls me old hag and other stuff.
but my son is my best friend. we DO have boundaries on what's acceptable to say like what we call each other.
how people refer to each other will not be acceptable for everyone.

Maybe. But letting the neighbor kid get under your skin and thinking its your concern to discipline the child (in such a violent manner at that) because of what goes on with his family on his side of the fence is just pompous and preposterous.
D*ckhead nieghbors like this usually make anonymous calls to CPS on people rather than mind their own or do anything near what Ops self righteous anger filled ego says he wants to do.
Op do you have a child of your own you could maybe worry about.
I do not see it as my responsibility. I may want to smack the kid upside the head, but I never would. The only way I'd call anyone is if I personally saw it get violent, and then it'd be the police not cps. I despise cps and everything they stand for. As a victim of their incompetence myself, I would prefer to never work with them.

Not sure about uppity...we came up in a time of respect.
To me....it reeks of disrepect.
I wld never call an elder this...
And I understand if it is done in play...but this dsnt seem playful.
But we had to answer ..yes ma'am and or..sir.
Still do...btw

we were taught there was a time and place for everything. we were also taught to speak to people with respect whether you liked the person or not.
I'm not sure I fully understand what the OP meant if it was anything other than what I just listed above.
