So of course, when the technology has progressed to the point where these "dolls" can actually interact with the user, people WILL use them as well.
I don't think it will hurt prostitution or porn anymore than the existing sex toys. Most people will always prefer real human interaction, it's a psychological thing.
Hard to feel beautiful, sexy, desirable and confident if the only sexual activity one can experience is with an inanimate object.

I admit the "idea" behind it all sounds feasible in theory but that would be (if it worked) the United Snakes Gov't GIVING UP power and more than HALF their money. If that's the case they should just ABOLISH feminism and stop bring evil and that'll NEVER happen.
The sexbots would have computer brains that the Gov't would make sure the manufacturers make them compatible with govt surveillance computers that it'll be AGAINST THE LAW to open up or tamper with other than NIRMAL programming that they'll be PRESET to allow.

Imo, I think sexbots and VR sex would definitely change a lot of things.
For some guys like myself, VR alone would be a treasure trove, like imagine getting to make love to your favorite anime characters (Yuka all the way for me!), something that is normally impossible without technology.
As for sexbots, I think it would cut down on the number of sexual assaults. Studies have shown that a high number of rapists and would-be rapists don't see themselves as monsters, they just see themselves as "otherwise nice guys looking to get laid."
On the other hand, it would definitely probably lead to a severe population decrease, but is that so awful? We already have an insanely high number of people on this planet and very few resources to go around. Reducing the population can only be a good thing, at least the way I see it.

From what I gathered watching a program a few years back about a few rare men who used what's available at that time, these were created for men who can't get a woman or get along with women or who have given up on the real thing.
I couldn't believe that some men were actually buying these things and talking with them and etc...I had to laugh.
Putting relations off to the side and just talking about sex. If prostitution was legal everywhere and that caused the prices to be cheap, even for the high class stuff( if you want to call it that)
That in itself would turn the dating world upside down. It would drastically change the odds ratio's and in time cause women to start initiating, sending the emails, paying for the first date and etc.
Then there goes the diamond and flower industry out the window and a few other things, which is the real reason, they don't legalize it.

As for the topic.
Sex truly isn't that big of a deal for me. If I chose a machine over a woman it would be because it at least pretended better than a human that it gave 1.5 f**ks about my well being.
